BEST PAINTINGS ON BUSES

On a Belgian Website I found the best bus paintings. They look so real !

BIG BEN IS RINGING

I was laying on the couch watching a little crime story from Agatha Christie on TV, while eating my appel pieces. I just saw a woman with short auburn hair sitting as me in front of the TV and she also watched a movie, but it must have been something more "intellectual" then mine, because I saw "Big Ben" ! I found it rather funny that I could watch a movie in a movie. Suddenly a shadow appeared behind the person on my screen, still watching "Big Ben" which bells now were ringing. I saw a thick cord and two hands and then the poor woman struggling while she was strangled.

Suddenly I heard Mr. G.  open the entrance door. I was surprised because I hadn't heard any ringing. Then he came into the living room fortunately not behind me and with no cord,  and told me that there was nobody. I looked at him with two question marks in my eyes and said, "nobody rang the doorbell". "Of course" he answered " somebody rang the bell" ! I looked at the screen in the screen where "Big Ben" was still ringing its bells and suddenly I understood !

Our door bell has the "Big Ben" bell ringing sound and he had thought it was our bell ! Meanwhile Big Ben had disappeared from the screen in my screen and I saw the woman's corpse laying besides the sofa...

Should I change our bell's ringing sound ? 

I LOVE GORGONZOLA

For the moment for lunch I love to eat Gorgonzola on a freshly toasted thick slice of wholemeal bread and as desert two apples. Mr. G. usually cleans off the trays as we are eating in the living room while watching the News or a little crime story. This time was no exception and he put the cheese in the fridge as usual.

The next day I took my Gorgonzola out and put it on the tray.




But when I opened the package, I had a surprise

 

Instead of the cheese there were the rest of the apple cuttings, which I had put in the package and had closed it. You should have seen my face and then we both bursted out in laughter ! I took a new package and ate my cheese toast which tasted delicious !

FUN SATURDAY - MORNING SEARCHES

This morning when I woke up I didn't know that it would be a morning of catastrophes. First I couldn't find the button to open the electric stores and as it was dark I knocked the water bottle on the floor. There was not enough light yet, so I stepped into the water, of course I hadn't closed the bottle ! I hobbled to the bathroom to dry my foot and looked for my slippers. I finally found them under my jeans which I had dropped on the floor. Apparently I had forgotten that clothes should be put nicely on a chair or something and they don't belong on the floor.

With two cats between my legs I managed to reach the kitchen without major accident and after having put food in their bowls, which they didn't eat of course, I finally could make my coffee. I started reading my emails when I realized that it was quiet cool in the room and my feet were getting cold.

I looked for my socks. I found one on my bed under Rosie the cat who slept peacefuly on it. I pulled the sock out from under the cat who wasn't happy at all and put it on. How nice a warm sock on a cold foot. But then where was the second one ? I looked everywhere even under the furniture and in the bin, but nothing. Finally when I picked up my jeans to put them on it fell out of one Jean leg.

While I was busy with my searches, my mobile rang from somewhere, but from where ? I followed the sound, it stopped ringing. I looked in my purse, nothing, I looked on the sofa, no mobile. Finally I called myself with the normal phone. It rang very close to me. I rang myself three times before I realized that it was in one of the pockets of my Jeans ! Really this morning my Jeans were full of surprises ! Unfortunately I didn't find a 100 € banknote which some generous person had put in there.

I don't know how I went through the morning after having looked half an hour for my glasses, and then 15 minutes for my neighbor's keys to feed the cat. I managed to go through the morning without other major incident but after lunch while I was watching TV at 1 it was suddenly 2 pm on my watch and I just could see a happy end.

I can't even say that these incidents are a sign of getting older, because it is not the first time that this happens to me. 

RETIREMENT AT 60 ?

THE CAMELS AND I

I know that cats and dogs like me or even love me, when we met. I am not afraid of dogs neither of cats and they must smell that I won't do them any harm. If I meet a dog or a cat it doesn't last long that the cats settle down on my lap, and the dogs come towards me and wave friendly with their tail.

What I didn't know was, that camels love me too ! But they are a little big to sit on my lap so I haf to do the other way around.



It was not difficult to climb on its "lap"



Finally I was comfortably installed in the saddle



It swung me softly through the sand



and checked from time to time if I was still there




Sometimes his owner left me alone and it followed the others, or tried to give the neighbor girl a kiss, which made me slip in my saddle !



Far too soon, only half an hour, the ride ended and I had to say good bye



What did my camel do ? It fell on the sand and rolled around like a happy cat or a dog !



It was quiet impressive and I had to watch that he didn't roll against my legs !



at the end it gave me a big smile and said good bye !

I wished I had a camel here and could do my shopping with it, riding from our house to the shopping center and watch people from high above ! It's certainly quiet easy to find a "parking" place for it.

CATCHING FLIES - Fun Saturday

In my painting group we discuss about a lot of things. This time it concerned a "young" girl of 80, who is in very good shape, but now she has troubles with her teeth. The dentist told her she needs a denture ! Big drama, because she thought that she had to take it out during the night and put it in a glass like her mother had done. We reassured her that today nobody does this anymore and she could keep her false teeth and only take them out for cleaning.

This reminded me the false teeth of my grandpa. Each time he made a little nap in his armchair after lunch, he took his teeth out and put them besides him on a little table. Of course as a little girl I found it wonderful that he could take his teeth out and I not. I thought it would be perfect to catch flies with a denture  and  the false teeth could eat them. One day a little friend came over and we both looked at the false teeth laying there.

First we hesitated a little being afraid that grandpa would wake up, but as he snored like a chainsaw, we thought there was no danger. So I took one part and my friend the other and then we looked for flies to catch. Indeed we had a lot of fun, unfortunately the flies were too quick, but still we could clap the two parts together which made a nice noise.


Unfortunately my grandma came into the room and saw us playing with the false teeth. Of course she had to be angry, took the denture from us, chased us outside and probably washed it before putting it back. Later she told me that she had laughed for hours about my creativity to catch flies with a denture ! I don't know if my grandpa ever knew about that.

Apparently that wasn't the only funny event she had with me when I was a little girl.

NO INTERNET CONNECTION !

A terrible drama happened in this house ! Just when I wanted to check our bank account, the Internet connection went off ! I thought maybe the account is in such a terrible state that the connection broke to protect me from the shock, but this was not the case.

Mr. G's. Computer had Internet connection so only the wireless thing didn't work. I asked him if he could have a look on mine to see what happened.



That's what he did.

As he couldn't find out immediately why my computer refused to connect, he first got excited,





then angry and then furious






Finally he called a friend, and they talked and talked, I thought I better escape and disappeared to my friend Ilona, where I spent the afternoon, sitting in the garden and enjoying the sunshine. Before I returned home I called Mr. G. and asked if my computer had Internet connection again and he said proudly "yes". So I could return home and found a man very satisfied with himself. I then had to listen to a loooong story what he had done and not done etc etc and admire his efforts and knowledges, although I didn't understand a single thing ! It's so easy to make a man happy !

ART OR NOT ART THAT's THE QUESTION !

Yesterday after our walk along the sea, we went up to the hills to have a look on some of the beautiful mansions built there, dating from the 19th century. Most of them are now transformed into holiday lets.





This one has become an "Art Center"



and art it was ! Hanging this on your living room wall you can be sure to get mad after a while



or depressed with the black scribblings. To pull out wings of living butterflies and glue them on a piece of paper wasn't to my taste at all ! I prefer flying butterflies out in nature !



The nicest framed pictures were these briefs. Now I really wonder who the heck will buy these ??
Some mentally disturbed men ? Would certainly look nice over the desk of a Bank manager !

We didn't stay there very long, because the windows were closed with stores so we couldn't even admire the wonderful sight on the sea ! We escaped the art and went back to the sea before driving home.

HOSPITAL AT HOME

Since I am back from my holidays, life has me back full speed ! Mr. G. catched a cold in Amsterdam because he smoked on the cold terrace wearing a thin shirt but didn't put on a cardigan. Now he has to pay for it and I too indirectly !



He caughes like an old steam engine and when he sneezes, 3 cats in different sleeping places catapult themselves through the air. I am sure that our neighbors are suspecting me to keep secretely an elephant in our garage who trumpets joyfully.



Good cat Pookie serves as hot water bottle.

And as this wasn't enough, for me to play the nurse, I have to give a shot to Rosie against the



inflammation of her paw. It's getting better. Each morning I have to pull out of the bed a sneezing and caughing Mr. G. to hold her so that I can give her the shot. What a show !



Now I am thinking of wearing a burka, not a black one, that would look too sad and the mailman and my neighbors would risk a heart attack. This would protect me for not catching all the microbes flying around in this house ! I quiet like this blue model. What do you think ?
