FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE - FIVE ON FRIDAY
1. The week started with sunny but cold weather ! I had to go to the bank to ask for a new cash card, because on mine the chip didn't work anymore. That was very annoying because I never carry a lot of cash with me and I couldn't pay the restaurant so Nicole had to borrow me some money ! I don't know how it is in your countries, but here more and more branches of big banks are closed and employees loose their jobs. We the clients have to line up for special services because there is only one person and wait for hours ! It took not exactly one, but half an hour certainly, and then you have to pay for administration fees ! Banks are thieves ! Not only we have to do their jobs on internet, but also wait for hours like in a little village bakery ! At least there you can chat with the people in a bank they all make sour faces !
2. Of course I had to try the new temporary card, and started window shopping. I had discovered a new boutique which sold clothes in a special style, it all looked a bit vintage and out of the 70th. I found a beautiful red blouse, in cotton with some golden embroidery for special occasions. With the upcoming year's end festivities, I have at least something !
3. It was time again to drive my neighbor to the hospital for her eye shot. This time there was also check up, which I didn't know, so I spent the whole afternoon in this hospital waiting for her. We arrived at 2 and left at 5 pm ! After a while I was fed up and fortunately found a café with internet connection so I could at least answer all comments on my tablet. When you are in good health a hospital is a rather depressive place to stay !
4. Nicole's kitchen is nearly empty, and the new furniture will be delivered end of the month, meanwhile she has to go out for lunch or warm up plates in the micro wave. She has a very nice multifunctional micro wave which she has at least for 4 years but had never used it she warmed up all things in a traditional way. She said she was too lazy to read the notice book, it all seemed so complicated ! So we met for lunch, and afterwards had a coffee in her home. Meanwhile she had read the notice book of the micro wave and found it so easy ! Now she is angry that she hasn't used it before. We had lunch in the Carrefour store, and they have a new service now, they also do take away ! That was ideal for me, I bought a plate for Mr. G. and he was very happy with it !
Both with a full belly !
5. On the 11th we have celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary ! Can't believe it ! Only 3 years to go and it will be half a century that I am with the same man ! I think couples like us, become rather seldom species ! For the occasion I dragged Mr. G. out of the house in "my" Chinese restaurant where he could eat as much as he wanted (all you can eat) and he ate !! With two big bellies we returned home !

Wednesday Hodgepodge
1. What would you say is the best and worst thing about moving house?
The best thing is when I move into the new house and everything is done, the worst thing is to pack all things and sort out what has to be thrown away !
2. What's moved you recently?
Probably nothing, because I am thinking now for 5 min and still can't find out what moved me recently !
3. Do you feel your life is moving forward, backward, or is on hold? How so?
Life goes on, that's for sure you can't stop it. And sometimes it is good so, other times bad, it all depends
4. On the move, move mountains, get a move on, it's your move, or bust a move...which phrase best applies to some aspect of your life right now? Explain.
I would say I am always on the move ! I am always looking for something to do outside the house, visiting exhibitions, festivals, friends, going to the movie, or theatre, travel, whatever is nice !
5. What song makes you want to get up and move?
That's quickly said, NONE !
6. Your favorite snack to grab when you're 'on the move'
I am not for snacks, and certainly not when I am "on the move" !
7. What one accessory makes your house feel like home?
No accessories makes my house feel home. It's the whole house !
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am not so happy with the season, summer is gone and winter is not there yet, even when the sun is shining it's not the same as in summer I miss the warm summer days and the very cold sunny winter days are not there yet. This makes me moody !

APPLE FESTIVAL
To really take advantage of the last warm and sunny days, Nicole and I went to an "Apple festival" nearby which took place in the huge park of the castle Chateau de la Hulpe.
The castle from far
In the orchards, children and adults picked up the apples from the tree for free. There had been so many apples this year, that instead of throwing them away, we were allowed to take them, which I found an excellent idea.
Many, many people had the same idea as we, walking around in the sunshine.
besides the old farm which is now a restaurant, several stalls were installed and showed everything about apple trees.
Of course there were also apples for sale, for those who were too lazy to pick them up themselves. Charlie inspected the apples but would have preferred a cow festival with steaks.
of course there was also apple juice, cider and sparkling apple wine which you could taste.
This was a wheel barrow, containing the left overs of the pressed apples. I asked what they are doing with it, but they didn't know yet. I suppose it will end up as pig food or something.
Children could paint plaster apples which they loved !
Here you could get a plate with sausages and apple puree. Unfortunately I just had had lunch.
The terrace of the restaurant was full and we even had to wait to get a place. From there we had a nice view on the whole event !

WEEKEND REVIEW October 9
As the weatherman had announced rainy weather, the sun came out of course, but Ilona and I had already planned to go to the big shopping center in the next town called Nivelles. We thought if it rains it is the ideal place to go. But it hadn't been ideal at all. It was Saturday and many families with kids had the same idea. There were even more people as usual because everything was "on sale"
We could hardly move and finally sat down in a café. Fortunately I found something very practical, training trousers to wear at home, very warm in fleece ! That's nice for watching TV. Ilona found some very nice underwear, so we hadn't been there for nothing, because for window shopping there were far too many people !
We returned home and chatted a bit with Mr. G. disturbing him in a TV Quizz !
Mr. G watching TV in the evening
Sunday was a real sun day ! I had read that in the orchard of the "La Hulpe" castle, there was an Apple fest, and people were asked to bring bags along because they could pick up as much apples as they wanted. That of course was something for the children !
Nicole, Charlie and I went there, we also had brought a bag, but Charlie had taken care of the bag while sitting in the car and had made a big hole in it. Anyway there was nothing which we wanted to buy, Nicole doesn't like apples and I still had a lot at home. But it was nice to walk around, talk with the people and then sat on the terrace of the old farmhouse which today is a nice restaurant.
In the sun it was so warm, that we could take off our coats.
When the sun slowly disappeared it got cooler and we returned home.
