BOIS DE LA BRUERE

The only "wood" we have in Waterloo is small but has everything ! Wood flowers, animals, a variety of trees and it's a wonderful spot in the town to relax and believe that you are in a big wood. There is also a little lake and lot's of ducks and other animals. Benches all around invite you to sit down and rest.

In the past, charcoal was produced here on what used to be part of the Sonian Forest.Today you can walk around the lake (3km) and admire the lush surrounding nature.A chance to learn about ecology.

Of course it would look even more beautiful in spring or summer !

PARKS IN BRUSSELS - PARC DE WOLUWE

Brussels and its 19 municipalities is a very green capital city that gives each of its inhabitants 28m² of nature: historic parks, pleasant little public gardens, broad tree-lined avenues, a wood, a forest and even farms and vegetable gardens! ...

When I moved with my parents to Belgium, we lived very close to the Woluwe park. As a teenager it was the place where we met, and as a young mother I walked my baby in his pram along the ponds.

In winter if we had snow, the park was full of children descending the hills on their sleds or skating on the frozen ponds

SANARY - SOUTH OF FRANCE

Since 2008 my Blogfriend Claudie and I visited each other when she had school holidays. Once in Brussel, once in Ollioules/France. Until last year. Of course I made a lot of photos and here I show you the habour of Sanary in the South of France, where each Sunday a market takes place mostly fresh fish and seafruits just caught !

sea orchins

and later on the table !

A way along the sea

Sanary is a popular place for retired people who live permanently there. That's why the whole year long there is something going on, while other little Tourist towns are only full in Summer.

CRISS CROSSING WATERLOO

I wanted to post a nice "Our World" but such romantic things like going to the bank took my whole afternoon. And not only mine but of the bank too ! I wonder what they do the whole day, because we have to handle our things mostly ourselves online and if you want to see a living soul, you have to ask for an appointment which takes at least 15 to 20 minutes listening to an awful music.

In short I post the few pictures I have taken out of my car driving through Waterloo and a little bit around as I was too early. I don't tell you how many men horned behind me when I stopped to take my pictures, but I let them horn !

And here is my criss cross sightseeing of my town Waterloo in Belgium

At home, vue from my kitchen

This is Waterloo's official Christmas tree and the abbrevation .... not very much appreciated by the real Waterloo people born and living here. There are too many strangers now !

Very close to the modern cone, representing a fir tree, stands this nice real Christmas tree in the garden of a Waterloo citizen !
