FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE
more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.
1. On Monday we celebrated our 41 wedding anniversary, I think I earn a medal that I am still with the same man after so many years ! that's probably half of my life ! Of course he could say the same. So we both get a medal. We didn't do anything special because there was so much snow and the streets so bad, that we celebrated with fresh raviolis filled with mozzarella, spinach and nuts.
and here is the present which I got, or I should say we, because I suspect Mr. G. that he also buys the cats for himself, I am a good excuse.
2. As the main streets were quiet clean Ilona and I adventured to a store where we admired the Christmas decoration
and enjoyed a cup of tea at her home with a cosy fire burning in the oven. On the left you can see her cat laying in the basket. She is a cat fan too.
3. Then it snowed again and I couldn't go out, I used the opportunity to make back ups and put some order in old pictures.
I also took pictures of my cats, who are sitting around in the Christmas decoration.
4.The rest of the week was very much the same.
Here is Mr. G. leaving for his computer class, where he explains how to work on a computer to people who want to learn. He does it voluntary for Waterloo citizens. The city had bought 9 computers to help people (mostly elderly) to learn how practical a computer can be. His eldest pupil was 85 ! and of course it had snowed again ....
5. I had to go out to buy a book in my second hand shop, because I had nothing to read anymore, with this bad weather I read a lot of course. During the night it had rained and there was glaze, fortunately not on the main road, so I bought my book and

A DAY IN K's

Letter K
This morning when I got out of my bed I thought it has been a long time that I hadn't weighed myself and as I have to use a lot of K's in this post I was happy that my balance shows kilos and not pounds and it didn't show me more as usual. I put on my kaftan, which I had bought in Karnak, which is not true, because I had bought it in Eastbourne in the Kingdom United. Sorry, but from time to time I suffer from my dyslexia.
I went to the kitchen where my 4 kitties were already sitting around and waiting for something to eat starting with a K. I blow them a kiss and switched on the coffee machine and regretted that I couldn't write Koffee, as we say in German Kaffee. I don't use a kettle that's only for making tea. I also had to give the usual cat food which doesn't start with a K. I didn't want to be killed by my kitties.
When I opened the kitchen stores I saw a kaleidoscope of snowflakes. I know that a kaleidoscope should be full of colors but I also suffer from being color blind from time to time.
I sighed and thought I am again stuck in the house, and couldn't do some kilometers with my car as anyway I couldn't find my keys. Somebody must have kidnapped them.
So I decided to switch on my computer, (why is this word not written with a K ?) and read some very interesting posts to keep up and improve my general knowledge.
Now I run out of words with K, after this brainraking, I feel rather K.O !
Nothing for kitties !

MY WORLD - Snow
more participants here
My world has become very small ! It had snowed so much and it is cold and on the streets it's a mess so that I prefer not to go out unless I have some shopping to do which wasn't the case. So here is my world :
view into our garden
more paw prints than human foot prints at the entrance. The fake flowers are frozen in the pot and I can't pull them out.
view on our street yesterday
and today. It's getting warmer but with the frozen ground the street is very slippery and full of glaze.
and my autumn decoration is frozen into water and looks rather funny ! Fortunately nobody in the street has started a Christmas decoration.
WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND
Helps you to remember what you have done on the weekend of December 4. You never know if you need an alibi ! If you participate please put the little logo on the top of your post and leave your link.
Because of the very cold weather on Saturday and a lot of snow I couldn't put my nose outside, the street was icy because the truck with the salt had forgotten to come to our little street. So it was quiet dangerous to drive if it wasn't really necessary. On top of that were lots of people doing their last Santa Claus shopping and the shops were full. In Belgium Santa Claus is very much celebrated in the Flemish part even more than Christmas and the children get their gifts from Santa Claus.
Therefore I stayed home and felt in prison.
That's what I saw when looking out of the windows on Saturday !
The day I was occupied with finishing the Christmas decoration and taking pictures of the ornaments. I also took pictures of my cats for the cat blog and that was it.
I also did some collages like here with all my angels
the table decorations
and the other little figures
So next year before I buy anything, I first look at my collages to see what I have ! Because in one year I always forget. This year we won't have a Christmas tree that's why I put some ornaments in the plants, we will celebrate Christmas in Amsterdam for the first time with our little Grandson.
The crèche and the open fire which always comes on purpose when it is so cold outside. It also creates such a cosy feeling.
Sunday was very much the same, it snowed but the temperature rose and the streets became even more slippery. I tried to create a nice Christmas card, which took me quiet some time. I also had such romantic things to do like the laundry and some other household scores.
Our street on Sunday morning, the snow is melting and it rains.
In the evening Dominique came and brought lots of desserts, which had been left from her mother's Santa Claus celebration, she had invited all her 6 children with children and great grandchildren, together they were 63 people ! When I think of my poorly family of just 4 and not even a half.
We watched a very funny classical French Christmas movie "Le père Noël est une ordure" (Father Christmas is a scum). I had seen it already many times, but it still makes me laugh. It's a classic movie but Dominique had never seen it and she had a lot of fun.

IN CONCERT WITH ELTON JOHN
On Wedsnesday afternoon it started to snow, and I had booked a concert with Elton John already in August ! Even before we knew that it would snow, Dominique and I intended to leave home at 6 (the concert started at 8), picking up Ilona on the way and then arriving at the concert hall around 7 pm because it is very hard to find a parking space there. Of course the concert was also sold out !
Despite the meanwhile 3 or 4 cm high snow and snowy roads and very slow traffic we made it and arrived there just a quarter to 8, found a parking and were on time. Lots of seats were empty because outside there was a mess on highways and streets and the traffic had broken down, but this fortunately I only knew that the next day ! We were really more than lucky. The buses with Elton fans arrived after two songs too and the whole concert hall was full.
The show was absolutely great ! what a genius and a great artist. I have never seen somebody playing piano as he did, with rather very short fingers. They litterally dansed on the keys ! We could see it on a huge screen. He also was very sympathic and real friendly with the public, after each song he stood up and thanked. The applause was consequently !
I tried to make some pictures and was quiet proud of the result because I have a very small camera a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T 300, put it didn't let me down ...
µ
what a voice ! I didn't record any song, because there are much better videos in the Internet.
the lights for all songs were different and very well done
He was accompagnied by Ray Cooper a genius of a percussionist, I had never seen somebody playing like him on drums and cymbals and I don't know what else in my whole life !
Just have a look here. It can't be described with words.
and after more than 2 h of singing without any break, he signed lots of autographs and then waved good bye.
It was certainly the best concert I have seen in a long time !
I had already seen him in 1986 or something when he had been in Brussels, but of course at that time he was completely different !
