FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

This would have been a real boring week if I would live alone ! The whole week we had fog, and not a little but a real strong as if we had a white curtain in front of our eyes.

The trees outside my window had practically disappeared.Fortunately, I was always busy with my photos or blog in the mornings and in the afternoons it was fun with our various games.

During our last game I realized that it is never too late for love, because René and Sophie were sitting opposite me holding hands!

Both are 90  + and a bit confused. They didn't know each other before meeting during our activities.  But they looked really cute and happy.

Upstairs in bed was Réné's wife who could no longer get up. Alzheimer's. Well, at that age you can probably afford something like that.

I also had to go to the lung doctor, unfortunately my condition has worsened and now I have to inhale oxygen twice a day. I'll start on Monday. I just wish for one thing, that this fog would go away, it's difficult to drive because you can't see very far.

I had asked for a little table for my computer so I can look out of the window and see our park, without fog !

Maybe because of the fog I am not feeling so well, I am really breathless when I move to much. Was a good decision that I choose this retirement home !

HODGEPODGE JANUARY 16

 1.  It's been said January is 'the month of opportunity, inspiration, and change." Which of the three do you need most right now? Elaborate.

I think what I'm needing most is inspiration for all things I used to do. Since Rick's death, I feel empty, especially now in these winter months.

2. Do you consider opportunity as something that comes to you or something you create for yourself?

I believe that opportunities in my life have always come to me without me doing anything for them.

3. The British Museum opened on this date (January 15th) back in 1759. Do you like visiting museums? Do you have a favorite?

Oh yes I love museums, paintings, sculptures, history etc. When I traveled in the past, museum visits were always on my travel plan.

4. It's National Oatmeal Month (yes, apparently it gets a whole month as opposed to a single day). Do you like oatmeal? How often do you eat a bowl of oatmeal? How do you like yours? What about an oatmeal cookie? Is that a sweet treat you enjoy?

I love oatmeal, but not cooked. I pour a little water on it and cut up fresh fruit and add it. I like oatmeal cookies too,

5.What's something useful you learned in high school?

not to put up with anything if it is the truth that I defend, not to be impressed just because the person is an important one. No one would have dared to bully me.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Since Monday when I look out of the window I have this view. It takes all my energy I just hang around and think ... I will do this tomorrow and suddenly it's Friday and the week is over.
Where are the trees, the birds and the castle ca ts ??

AWWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND JANUARY 11

WEEKEND

I should leave a white photo here which without any explanation represents the weather we had over the weekend ! There was so much fog that you could hardly see the trees. The park still looked white, but everything on the paths had melted away and there was black ice everywhere and you could see lots of accidents on TV.

Isn't that a beautiful weather ?

We didn't see the fog, we played cards

We sat in the warmth but this weather makes you tired. On Saturday we played "Win 1 billion Dollars" which was a question and answer game, we didn't win the billion but made it to 97 thousand $! Not so bad.

Sunday was no better and not many visitors came either, the roads were still slippery. But we had a good time and the time went by quickly.
