FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. When I arrived at my aqua gym class I stated with pleasure that the trees are trying to get out their leaves !

Nature becomes green ! Was about time.

2. Sitting in my car I heard at the radio about a terrible plane crash in France. When I came home I immediately switched on the TV to knew more about it ! It had happened in the southern French Alps. The German airplane  " Germanwings" had 150 passengers on board,  amongst them 16 German teenagers and two teachers. The plane should fly from Barcelona to Duesseldorf. According to the BBC, the flight was also carrying three Britons, and citizens of Spain, Australia, Japan, Colombia, Turkey, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.

A search and recovery operation has started in the Alps. From the plane nothing is left but pieces. The access into the mountains is only possible by helicopter. It will take some time to find out more about the inexplicable crash of an airplane which apparently had no technical problems.

Meanwhile the school in Germany is mourning. On the  poster above is written : "Yesterday we were many today we are alone".

3. Nicole had invited me for a chat on her terrace and as usual, the weather changed the sun disappeared and we had to stay inside.

Charlie brought me his toy basket and wanted me to play with him !

4. Ilona celebrated her 72 birthday

Her 79 old neighbor showed up with a bottle of champagne. We had a very nice afternoon. The neighbor was very entertaining had traveled a lot and made us laugh with his stories.

1. I had run out of my night cream, so I went to "my" Indian shop where I always buy my creams. They are natural and very good.

This time it wasn't so peaceful in there, an old lady had stolen a basket and a piece of fabric. The 3 volunteers stopped her at the door and took the basket back. The old lady started to scream that she had stolen nothing and she just wanted to offer them the fabric, she had also stolen before. She made a big mess and finally 2 policewomen and one policeman arrived and the hysterical screaming continued. I don't know the end of the story, but apparently it hadn't been the first time. It is really a shame to steal in a shop who sells things for the benefit of orphans and street children in India.

To comfort myself because of the bad weather I bought this beautiful necklace and two little wallets for coins, which I keep with my gifts I buy during the year for special occasions. After having assisted to the free theater play in the Indian shop I returned home.

WHAT HAPPENS IN SPRING ?

Letter S

On March 20 spring began officially and lasts until end of May, at least here in the Northern Hemisphere. Our Australian friends now instead start autumn.

But what happens so special in spring ? We all wake up or should at least and realize that the days are longer the sun comes out and the nature gets crazy !

Some humans are feeling depressed and retire in their deep black hole and call it spring seasonal depression others are coming out of their holes because their's is finished (autumn/winter depressions). Some others are suffering from strong spring fatigue and feel weak, tired and without any energy.

Floods, hails and thunderstorms happen in spring.

But then trees get leaves and the flowers come out, nature begins to take color.

Boys begin to look even more as usual at girls and men discover that there are other women to look at in streets and parks than their own one.

Girls do the same but more discreet. That's called sexual equality.

Cats are laying in the sunshine and sing operas during nights looking at the moonshine, and try to find a suitable female.

Dogs try to climb over the fences to find a partner especially when she smells so good. Dog owners are doing skateboard on the street pulled by their dogs running behind a nice looking (and smelling) dog girl.

Horses forget that they have a human to carry and ran after a horse lady, while the human gathers his limbs and gets slowly up and moves around.

Cows are laying in the grass and leak each other tenderly until a bull springs over the fence

Windows are cleaned and you suddenly realize that a new neighbor has moved in. Curtains are washed and the room looks much brighter. Housewives get crazy and clean their home from morning till evening from top to bottom.

Men suddenly discover that their car has to be cleaned from the winter dirt and salt. They cut everything available in the garden and dig holes for flowers and plants. Women too of course again equality.

Shops and boutiques are full of the new spring collections and women look for new feathers.

Birds are arriving from far and settle down to built their nests. The once which stayed here do the same.

Early mornings you wake up and spring (or fall) out of your bed because of the bird's singing. In town of course less, but there is the traffic noise coming through the open window.

Hairs are cut and shaved off the whole body.

Babies are created couples get married (not necessarily in this order). Spring feelings are in the air !

A LITTLE PARK IN WATERLOO

Very close to where I live is a nice little park with a rather big pond. The weather was cold but sunny so with my neighbor we did a little walk around the pond.

Ducks were holding a little meeting

Swans swam around

I think this was a guinea fowl, my bird knowledge is very limited

An overview

A retirement home nearby

But no sign of spring yet, the trees are still naked !

MY WEEKEND OF MARCH 23

Just at the entrance of the city hall school children had gathered for a "Drums for Peace" manifestation.

Some officials were there holding flags and the children held speeches calling for peace and tolerance in the world. The drums were sometimes very fancy, cooking pots or pans, you can imagine that it was very noisy because the children drummed with all their heart.

In the evening we had our theater play and as usual we had supper before in the Theater's restaurant.

The play was very funny and we laughed our heads off. It was a discussion between husband and wife, she was in a crisis, because he would take his retirement and she was complaining that then he would be at home all day ! It really was hilarious.

On Sunday it was an awful weather, cold, gray, humid, so I decided to stay home and  spent my day between computer and TV. I also spent an hour skyping with my friend Ilona, instead of visiting her and then with friends in Italy who finally had bought a computer and  refreshed my Italian and last but not least with my son. Grandson Toby is in the NO NO phase and preferred to watch TV instead of saying hello to grandma and grandpa. At the age of 4 children do their first puberty crises !
