Arthur on the roof

We had the roof of our garden shed replaced because it was rotten. Now what to do with the old rotten pieces ? Mr. Gattino brought them to a special waste dump. The guy there had a look on the pieces and declared that they couldn't take it because it was toxic ! First news ! For 30 years we had a toxic roof ! (and my cats all survived ??) Mr. Gattino came back with the rubbish. Then he called private depots. Nothing to do, they all refused. Finally he found one who agreed but first they had to look at it and then decide if they would take it or not ! So 30 km driving for eventually nothing. Then we have to buy special plastic bags at 10 € (15 $) each and put it in. 30 km driving again to get rid of it.

Now can you understand why so many people just dump their waste somewhere in the nature ? And you should keep the planet clean ? Being clean and ecological means then belonging to the rich !

As you maybe know I am living in Waterloo near Brussels the famous battle field of Napoleon.
And as a good Waterloo citizen I have a few items concerning this battle.



This is one of the very rare medals which Napoleon gave to his soldiers who shared the exile with him in St. Helena. I lent it already several times to the Wellington Museum in Waterloo. Apparently there are only about 160 of these medals remaining in the whole world.






Mr. Gattino of course has the whole battle with the French, German, Dutch, and British soldiers.

Persistent 999 caller given Asbo
A woman is banned from entering about 70 premises in Eastbourne
She rang emergency services more than 100 times when she was drunk to ask for a lift home. She has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (Asbo). I swear I haven't been in Eastbourne last week I was there in August !!


Underground drugs factory found
Eight large cargo containers were found buried at the site

A massive underground drugs factory, where hundreds of cannabis plants were nurtured, has been found by police. Eight shipping container units had been buried to contruct a labyrinth of plant-growing chambers. The whole complex had then been covered by a layer of earth several feet thick. Police uncovered the site, which contained 300 plants. I wonder if they will use this now for tomatoes ??



Obama a distant cousin of Bush

It has emerged that Barack Obama is a tenth cousin, once removed, of the man whose job he wants - George W Bush. They are linked by Samuel Hinkley of Cape Cod, who died in 1662.
Mr Obama is also a distant cousin of the actor Brad Pitt while Hillary Clinton is related to Mr Pitt's girlfriend, Angelina Jolie. Wow ! Mr. Bush had a scandal in his family !
and even with an exotic taste instead of a boring WASP ! (white anglo saxon protestant)
I am sure by digging a little in my ancestors I am related to them too !



Mrs Sarkozy in Britain

Mr Sarkozy’s new wife, Carla Bruni, curtsied demurely as she was presented to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in the shadow of Windsor Castle. Prince Charles gallantly kissed Ms Bruni’s gloved hand as the two couples exchanged a few words. Ms Bruni speaks fluent English. A poster of her nude was sold at the same time at Christie's. Fortunately there are no nude pictures of other First Ladies !

Transsexual Thomas, 34, shocked the world when a picture was released last week showing his bearded face and swelling belly. The Mayor and I

When I saw the word "pull" for Manic Monday it reminded me of a Cocktail Party organized by the City.

The Cocktail took place in the beautiful decorated room of the City Hall in Waterloo. Everybody was well dressed and some politicians and the mayor were there too.

I greated everybody I knew, took a drink and looked after something to sit down. In this moment a lady came over to me and while I was talking with her, I pulled the chair towards me without looking. The chair resisted so I pulled a little more and suddenly heard a big boom behind me. The mayor had had the same idea and also wanted a chair and while I pulled on one side he had pulled on the other. Unfortunately (for him) I was the winner and when I turned around to see what had happened, he was sitting on the floor still with a glass in his hands and looked at me like a surprised owl.

People around started to laugh and I appologized but ever since when he sees me walking in the street I have the impression that he is avoiding me.

THE TRIAL OF A MONSTER

On march 27, last thursday a big trial opened in Charleville-Mézières (France) against Michel Fourniret, also called the monster of the Ardennes and his wife Monique. He has raped and murdered 7 young girls in Belgium and France. This at least is what he is charged for. His wife accuses him of 11 murders and probably nobody will know exactly how many girls he really killed.

The Belgian people were especially touched by destiny of little Elisabeth Brichet who was 12 years old and had disappeared the 20 dec 1989 in Namur (Belgium). From that day on until Fourniret was arrested and confessed having killed her, her parents, the police and the whole country was looking for her until he was arrested in 2003. She was seen everywhere in the world. From Spain till Australia. The parents lived a nightmare during all these years until she was finally found at the Château de Sautou (France) on July 3 2004.

This case was especially vicious. Fourniret always proceeded the same way. He and his wife were asking the way to somewhere to a young girl and then pulled her in the car. When Elisabet left the house of a girl friend in her hometown Namur (Belgium), Fourniret asked her to climb in his car and show him the way to a doctor because his little 15 months old son was sick. Elisabeth saw wife and baby in the car and helpful as she was she climbed in the car. He took her to this castle where he raped and strangled her. Fourniret told her "This is the end of the trip, it's finished".

Of course we all follow the trial on TV and the way Fourniret behaves is just disgusting. He wants to set his own rules, be a star and said he cared very much about what will be written about him for the history !!

I personally have never heard about a rapist and killer who commited his crimes with the help of his own wife ! What kind of woman is this Monique ?? She is mother of 3 children (all boys)
