SUNDAY SELECTION

This is Arthur our cat who shared our lives for 19 years. Today it is exactly one year that he left us forever. Fortunately he was not sick, just one day fell asleep and never woke up again the vet who came just confirmed. He was such a funny cat and known by the people in the whole area where we lived.

He was a very social cat and he still lives with us although not physical anymore.

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

On Monday  my family helper came for the first time to take care of Mr. G. She is a very nice young woman very friendly and kind. What she told him he accepted while I only hear no's ! Therefore I disappeared in the living room and prepared my post, while she was helping him shower and dress and tidy up his room.

She will come twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. The other days he does it alone, except the shower, but as he sits the whole day he is not dirty and handwashing is enough. Then I drove him to his Whist and was free all day, it was warm and sunny and I relaxed with a wide open window !

The next day we had our Corona babble meeting at Nicole's and she was very happy to have company, it is really amazing how healthy and nice she looks despite her chimeo treatment. Her hairs had grown again thick and black like before ! But it is far from being finished she has another 5 chimeos to do.

Cat Isis was also happy to have a lot of visitors and tried to climb into the plants but apparently it was not very interesting

And then came the day I hated I had to go to the technical control for the first time with this car. Usually it's Mr. G who does it, but for the moment he doesn't want to drive because sometimes he gets dizzy and that would be too dangerous. Thanks to my GPS I found the place immediately and didn't have to wait either because in Corona times you can only go there with an appointment (and mask of course)

The men were very friendly and we chatted a bit, and while my car was checked from top to bottom and I got a paper that everything was OK, had to pay 50 € and returned home. Now I am in peace for two years.

After the sunny week it ended today during the night with a lot of rain ! Even the little bowl of my cat Rosie standing on the balcony was full of water. She likes to drink rainwater.

To close the week I drove Mr. G. to the physio where he was tortured for half  an hour, he has to walk and do other exercises for the muscles. I call him "Speedy Gonzales" which was a song, because he walks like a snail.

Then I did my shopping and bought all ready made plates which are delivered to the Supermarket by restaurants which are still closed, but that helps them to earn a bit of money and we are delighted !

HODGEPODGE MARCH 4

1. Is March coming in like a lion where you live? Aslan, Simba, Elsa, The Cowardly Lion...your favorite 'famous' lion?

There is no lion where I live and if it means something else even Google couldn't find anything else then the Lion in Zion. Anyway, March moves in rather like a snail and will be as boring as February as we are still in lockdown, the only thing you can do to amuse yourself is watching the leaves coming out of the trees and maybe a few little flowers. Weeds for sure !

2. In what way do you 'march to the beat of your own drum'?

For the moment I have no inner drum rather a noiseless instrument if ever this exists

3. What item that you don't have already, would you most like to own? Any chance of that happening soon?

Nothing comes into my mind, the only thing I want is FREEDOM and no Coronavirus !

4. March is National Flour Month...are you a baker? Cookies-cakes-or pies...your favorite sweet treat to bake? What's the last non-sweet thing you made that called for flour?

I am not a baker at all and not a cake and cookie fan either. The last thing I made, or I put the ingredients in the machine, was a bread.

5. There are 31 days in the month of March...where were you and what were you doing when you were 31? If you haven't hit that milestone yet, then tell us where you were and what you were doing 31 months ago? (if math is not your thing, that would be August 3, 2018)

When I was 31, I was a freshly baked mother of a one year old little  boy ! What I did ? Probably take care of him ! Otherwise he wouldn't have become a tall guy of 2 m (6.6ft)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I get angry every day that we have such stupid politicians who have not ordered enough vaccines, the vaccination is going on so slowly and the restaurants and cafes are still closed.

I don't remember how many people you are allowed to invite, it was and probably is still ONE person and that's impossible to respect. So I'm not in a particularly good mood, even though I'm trying to make the best of the situation.

Take it with humor if you want to survive !

My cat Rosie loves the lockdown, she has us all to herself the whole day !

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

19 years, once a week on Thursdays I spent 4 h painting in this room. We had all a lot of fun and it was nice to learn new things. Since one year now, the class is cancelled because of this &@"§$£ Coronavirus and  we don't know when we can use the room again ! Unfortunately it is located in the retirement home, which is closed more then Alcatraz when Al Capone was in lockdown there !

Since a year I have a painting there which I left so that it could dry ! I couldn't know that 2 days later the whole building was closed and my painting is probably super dry by now !

Not even a clairvoyant can tell us when the room is free again, because probably he is Covid infected !

LA PANNE-BELGIAN SEA RESORT

Where the North Sea, the dunes and the polders meet, lies this green pearl of the Flemish coast. To me one of the most beautiful holiday Resort at the Belgian coast. It is one of the rare town which has still  kept its old charm and has not demolished all the old houses and replaced by high glass boxes what they had done in the other Belgian sea resorts to get the most of tourists.

Immeasurable expanses of the dunes with their surprising scenery, where you can wander undisturbed through one of the unspoilt nature reserves, and take an early beachwalk through the nature reserves, discovering one thing after another. These are all treasures that make De Panne an undeniable succes. On top of this, De Panne has the widest beach on the coast, ideal for a pleasant walk or even a sand-yacht trip beside the sea. De Panne, after all, is the ideal place for sand-yachting, with its wide beach and absence of breakwaters.

It was also on the beach of De Panne that the first King of Belgium, King Leopold I, on 17th July 1831, set foot on his future kingdom for the first time. A monument reminds us of this event.

I have spent a few days in La Panne and liked it very much. In the other sea resorts I mostly stayed only one day then I had enough. I took these pictures when I was there.

a fancy restaurant at the beach

The biggest hotel and also Restaurant in La Panne

Along the beach

Playground for kids

The church (all churches are catholic)

A modern art sculpture

The old houses are still standing there. The first tourists arrived mid 1800

Quite a lot of wealthy people have their second residence in La Panne

where the white car stands was our apartment on the left, and when we went out we had the sea just in front which this day was rather rough !

AWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND FEBRUARY 27

Amazing when she stretches her paws !!

Isis is the cat of my friend, who adopted her from an animal shelter. Poor Isis was victim of little kids who loved her too much so that it became  dangerous for her. Fortunately the Dad realized the danger and brought her to the shelter ! She was quite traumatized and hid whenever she heard a noise, now she is a lovely social cat and is not afraid anymore !

WEEKEND

Saturday was a nice day, my friend Chantal had her birthday and had invited our scrabble club. We had asked her what she would like and she said something for her garden but no plant !

Myriam went gift hunting and found this

With this frog you can't keep your bad mood !

There were two girls missing, and therefore had a lot to eat !!

The frog and buddha watched us while we were eating our cake ! It was delicious. With the cake  we had Champagne even without alcohol !

We couldn't eat it all, so Chantal gave me a big Tupperwear with cake for Mr. G. !

Sunday was a lazy Lockdown day, for once I slept until 9.30 am I don't remember when this happened the last time, I have to say  I was quite exhausted from the past week full of worries, but now it's better ! When you know the cause of a disease it's a relief.

There was wonderful weather and the sun was flooding in our living room ! I could even keep the large window doors open and take some sunshine.

I did some shopping surfing on Internet because I am looking for some balcony furniture .

No changes in our lockdown rules, except we are allowed to go to bed at midnight now instead of 10 pm. The Government has decided not to decide. This was the title of all Newspapers. Our prime minister the son of a former prime minister has probably some language problems.

SUNDAY SELECTION

As a cat fan I am not so interested in birds. I mean I like to see them flying around and chirping but I prefer the big ones to the little ones ! Besides magpies, no other names come into my mind, but a bird I really like are the owls ! They have such cute faces and the fact that they can turn around their heads completely, is amazing ! Unfortunately I can't do it I have to turn my neck !

Each time I see owls I take pictures and as we are still prisoners I digged in my Google pictures and found a few, which I have seen on different occasions.

Don't ask me the name of the species, because for me they are all owls. I especially love the last one because it looks exactly as I feel !
