Greece was so evident to me, that I had to look on the map to see it's exact location ! (I slept during Geography lessons)

I start in Athens and go up to the North and then down again to Athens. My trip looks approximately like above.

Thanks to the new Blogger invention I scheduled my posts for different games.
And probably sometimes I can get on Internet and visit you.

I will be back on next Friday.

SHOW & TELL

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

As the weather is so nice this week in Belgium, I took the opportunity and arranged a little our garden.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have 3 ceramic cats sitting in the garden like the one in the first picture and two smaller once to cover tiles. The bronze cat is sitting in front of the kitchen door and usually helds it open.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These two are sitting on the animal grave yard under our wheeping willow tree

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Besides our entrance door, is this warning sign : Attention Cat !

Dino dung snapped up at auction

Coprolite, or fossilised dinosaur dung
Jurassic-era coprolite, or fossilised dinosaur dung

Two pieces of dinosaur dung have been sold at auction for $960 (690 €) at an auction house in New York.
The fossilised dung, which resembles rock on the outside, and a colourful mineral inside, is 130 million years old, from the Jurassic period. I hope the one who bought it has it transformed into a beautiful hanger for example. That would be the first person with dung hanging around her neck !

Keyboards 'dirtier than a toilet'
Many people eat their lunch at their computers, leaving crumbs.
Some computer keyboards harbour more harmful bacteria than a toilet seat, research has suggested. Of course that's logical, normally your buttocks should be cleaner then your fingers and you don't eat that often sitting on a toilet seat.

Sex on Ecuador's political agenda
A woman from the governing party in Ecuador has proposed that a woman's right to enjoy sexual happiness should be enshrined in the country's law. Her suggestion has provoked a lively debate in conservative Ecuador. I wonder how this could work in practice ? Do you have to file a claim each time you are not "filled with happiness" ?? That will cause a claim flood !

Man Buys Beer-Can Coff
Bill Bramanti will love Pabst Blue Ribbon eternally, and he's got the custom-made beer-can casket to prove it. "I actually fit, because I got in here," he said
The 67-year-old Glenwood village administrator doesn't plan on needing it anytime soon, though. He threw a party Saturday for friends and filled his silver coffin - designed in Pabst's colors of red, white and blue - with ice and his favorite brew. What are you waiting for ? start collecting beer cans and you will have a cheap coffin ! and a solid one too !

Man Stuck In Machinery Uses Big Toe To Call 911
Even with his arms stuck in a piece of machinery, a man was able to call 911 using his big toe. He became trapped in a press-like machine that resembles an elevator. The employee was alone. He shook his cell phone off his belt, kicked off one shoe and used his toe to dial 911. Rescuers used a thick metal bar to pry the machinery off his arms. I will start a toe training today, you never know ! Please leave your telephone number !

MANIC MONDAY - FRESH

Here is Quilly's Alphabet letter "E"

Scroll down for FUN MONDAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I hear the word "fresh" it makes me think of fresh air but also about a Sunday market where you can find a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and food.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each Sunday morning Mr. Gattino goes to the Waterloo market to buy fresh pasta, cheese, ham and other Italian specialities at his Italian friend's stand.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you need plants or flowers, this is the place to get them very fresh !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

fruits and vegetables had been bought at 3 or 4 am at the whole saler market and are of course very fresh.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Various cheese from various countries, Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course you can also find fresh Bread, rolls, cakes and meat.

Each Sunday Mr. Gattino also buys a freshly roasted chicken which is always very yummy !

FUN MONDAY - A HERO OR RATHER AN ADMIRED PERSON

Kitten's homeschool asks : "I would like to know "Who is Your Hero" Not from TV, but your real life hero. It can one or it can be many. Just someone you have or do look up to. You can do this any way you would like and if you want or can, share pictures!"

A hero in my real life ?? Even at a second glance or more glances I really don't know any !

According to the dictionary a hero is :

1 ) a remarkably brave person: somebody who commits an act of remarkable bravery or who has shown great courage, strength of character, or another admirable quality
a war hero

2. somebody admired: somebody who is admired and looked up to for outstanding qualities or achievements

I fortunately had no war hero in my family. Germans didn't like their supposed to be heros. There also was nobody who became famous because he saved lives or created schools in Africa. We are all very normal persons.

And around me amongst my friends or people I know, I can't find an hero either. The only person I admire for her courage and how she handles her life is my girlfriend who got polio at the age of 3. She had a terrible start in life with 5 or 6 operations at her leg, to get it longer so that she could walk at least with crutches. While others are complaining about their backaches or other things, she enjoys life and has an amazing courage. Never a complaint, she never seems to be tired ! She does everything I do and even much more, but she has to do it with a double or triple effort due to her handicap ! Through all these sufferings in her childhood and youth, she also has become a very wise person and is very mature. You have a problem, she will solve it.

And if it hadn't been enough her husband had a terrible car accident which left him, after being in hospital for 3 years without knowing in what state he would come out, with a brain of a 6 year old boy and autistic behaviours. Physically he is completely normal and looks like before his accident. She has to prepare his clothes to dress, and take care of him as if he was a boy of 6 only he is an adult and her husband. Imagine ! Fortunately this accident made him a happy man easy to deal with. He always smiles is very friendly and never agressiv. I say fortunately, because there are other brain damaged people who became very violent and difficult.

She also has two now adult sons of 22 and 24 who really have a very special relationship with their mother and are very caring. They had to help her already when they were small children. She is the kind of person I admire, and am very happy to be her friend.

WEEKLY WINNERS

are here

More participants are here at Weekly Winners, hosted by a Sarcastic Mom !

Each thursday morning I go to my painting group. We are men and women between 50 and 86, a lady who is very fit !! It's always very entertaining, we chat a lot, but are also working ! Very appreciated is the coffee break where we update each other. The responsible of the group, a former primary school teacher, pretends that we are more noisy than her pupils of age 6 in the past !

Here I am busy with painting my cat Rosie

My best friends and the painting professor

An overlook

where you can see that we are all very busy ! Annie, the lady on the picture also paints cats;

Of course I also had to work a lot with my quite new hobby the photography.

My models here are Pookie and Kim. Kim is a very difficult model because she is all black so when her eyes are not open you easily could think somebody left a piece of black fur on the ground.
