The castle from far
In the orchards, children and adults picked up the apples from the tree for free. There had been so many apples this year, that instead of throwing them away, we were allowed to take them, which I found an excellent idea.
Many, many people had the same idea as we, walking around in the sunshine.
besides the old farm which is now a restaurant, several stalls were installed and showed everything about apple trees.
Of course there were also apples for sale, for those who were too lazy to pick them up themselves. Charlie inspected the apples but would have preferred a cow festival with steaks.
of course there was also apple juice, cider and sparkling apple wine which you could taste.
This was a wheel barrow, containing the left overs of the pressed apples. I asked what they are doing with it, but they didn't know yet. I suppose it will end up as pig food or something.
Children could paint plaster apples which they loved !
Here you could get a plate with sausages and apple puree. Unfortunately I just had had lunch.
The terrace of the restaurant was full and we even had to wait to get a place. From there we had a nice view on the whole event !
