AWWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND JUNE 1st

Saturday honored us with rain from morning till evening non stop, some streets were flooded because the drain was full! So I put on my tracksuit and decided to have a lazy Saturday, which I did. I chatted a bit with Pauline, watched a few crime stories on TV, put photos in folders, and at coffee time I went to our restaurant to show the videos to my inmates, which I had made on Thursday. I should walk every day for my lung disease, the park was there in its beauty but I didn't want to catch a cold in this rain, so I discovered the long, long, corridors of the castle ! There are enough km to walk !

Sunday it was like winter we had 12°C and would say we have a mild winter. Of course the sky was grey and not really mood lifting. It was the perfect day for dusting, watering the 3 plants, make my bed, and tidy up my wardrobe. Then I was exhausted (!?) and watched TV. There was a nice animal report about a shelter in France. 

When I had finished my Blog work I went to join the others in the Restaurant/meeting/playroom, for a cup of coffee, there were no activities, so we chatted with the visitors, Sunday's there are often visitors, which is nice because they join in for the games !

Then I had enough and retreated into my room, Rosie opened one eye to see if it was me or somebody else, and then I finished my blog and did a bit Internet shopping. I found a few interesting things like hair curlers, a carrying bag for Rosie, a bolero with long sleeves and not to pay transport costs,  I ordered a little box with 6 mice for Rosie, then the total was right.

What an exciting Weekend ! If only it would get warmer, now a half year has passed and we still have "mild winter" !

WATERLOO IN THE RAIN

My World in our world is not very funny ! On top of  the storm and rain,  we still are in lockdown. Besides shopping, hairdresser, and gathering outside with 10 people but for funerals 50 you can't do very much. travels are not allowed and most of the European countries have their borders closed. So the following pictures are from a few years ago, but nothing has changed ever since in my town. 

Here I came back from shopping (one person in the shop ) driving through Waterloo

and this is the weather since at least two weeks !

WEEKEND NOV 14

Saturday when Mr. G. wanted to go shopping, he rang at the door to tell me that the lift still didn't work !  I was surprised because when I came home on Friday at 6 pm, I was lucky because it took my to our 3rd floor. 

As I am better in negotiations and reclamations then he thinks he is, of course he handed me the phone and asked me to solve the problem ! 

First I called the company, it was "only" the 3rd time, and of course I had to go through the new telephone robots, instead as in the past a friendly telephonist who answered you "Johnson & Jackson" good morning, may I help you ? You get now an answering machine which tells you which button to press to get the service you want. And that takes time !! In my case I should choose the language first, Flemish, French or English. Then came number 1 with 3 suggestions, number 2 with 4 suggestions, etc. Fortunately I was not stuck in the elevator with a broken floor, hanging half in the air with the 3 floors under me. Again they promised me that a technician would come right away. 

I spent the whole morning on the phone to find the responsible of the building and first the one for the services. The result was we have to wait until Monday, because it is the weekend, and they need a spare part ! Now we have free gymnastic included in the rent. 

The rest of the day I spent on our balcony in the sunshine it was really very warm for November 20° ! I also took some sky pictures as it was so beautiful and changed all the time.

On Sunday Mr G. went to a friend and as I needed the car, I drove him there. It was quite warm but very windy. 

As soon as I had climbed up all the stairs to our apartment it started to rain or rather to pour, buckets of water fell from heaven, against the freshly cleaned windows

I watched the sky and the dark clouds. Besides typing this post and watching a bit TV I haven't done anything! A real lazy Sunday. Mr. G. was glued to the television looking at Formular 1 with his friend !

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

As usual we started the week with our Scrabble game and as usual it rained. But later in the afternoon the sun suddenly showed up for a moment and as a proof I took a picture while Nicole tried to find a word which brought her a lot of points and little Isis watched us, also taking advantage of the 5 min sunshine.



We all  complained that we were feeling so lazy and sleepy and found that it's really not right that in Australia it is so hot that people and animals die and here it is so wet that we are all sick with something.



Since mid December this TV furniture was sitting in front of our house to be taken away.  I thought maybe somebody need some furniture, but apparently everybody has enough and finally the municipal special garbage service picked it up yesterday of course against payment. As I had to pay per cubic meter, we added all things we don't need anymore and my neighbor added a desk. At least that way it was worthwhile to come with a little truck.

The rest of the day I surfed on the computer, once I had written my posts or watched a bit TV.

Fortunately we had our painting course again, we missed it twice due to Christmas and New Year which were in the middle of the week.

The blue canvas was a pouring painting which I had done before Christmas and as it was so big I had hidden it on the terrace of the building with a plastic underneath not to color the tiles. Of course I forgot it and It was laying in the rain and sunshine for three weeks, until a kind person took it into her office and let it dry there.



Now I have to repair it a bit, but still I was amazed of the good quality of the colors and the canvas, which had both been very cheap. There was still the Christmas decoration in our room and even a piano.

After class we decided to go to "our" Lebanese restaurant and were greeted like VIPs, we were six and he offered us a bottle of wine and after lunch a real good cup of mint tea like they drink it in Northern Africa.



The food was delicious, so healthy and such a variety of vegetables, we had a lot of fun there and I guess the waiters too, because we were quite noisy !

With a full belly we said good bye to each other and returned home, where we had to digest first either with a little nap or a little TV movie.

In fact I did what my cats do the whole day, they sleep and I hang on the sofa.

If I could I would send all our rain to Australia ! But that would probably be only a little drop in this huge country, but drop by drop also makes water.

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY - HAPPINESS ? A BIG WORD

HAPPINESS ? A BIG WORD

You can imagine that my happiness has limits for the moment when you see the two pictures above. We are all fed up of the rain, the too warm weather and we are not happy to see flowers starting to bloom in January.

I have no energy for nothing. Not even to travel, I hide myself behind the TV and try to escape the reality. Fortunately I am not the only one. My friends have the same feeling and we decided to get more together and try to find some happiness in going out, but not in the rain. For the moment the Exhibitions we have are rather depressing and have nothing to raise your bad mood ! Nothing is not really true because we have our Scrabble and also our painting courses.

I went with Mr. G. to the doctor because he too doesn't feel well and apparently besides a lot of depressions there is also the flu and an epidemic gastroenteritis around.

And to make my miseries complete, my grandpa cat has an eye infection.

If I could escape and go to Egypt as I did each year to fill me up with energy I probably would be full of happiness laying at the beach and looking into the blue sea.

Impossible for the moment so I have to wait another months.

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. I noticed that each week I complain about the bad weather ! It really makes me feel caged ! I run out of outside pictures, can't walk in the woods or parks, or visit special places etc. I am not at all a window shopper or boutique visitor, which leaves me with museums shopping centers and Galleries. I can't sit the whole day in a station and watch people ! From my three umbrellas, there is none left, I forgot them somewhere and have to buy a new one or better two !



That's  Waterloo's main street ! Rather wet isn't it ?

As my friends are in the same case, what do we do ? We get together and chat ! That's less boring.

2. Fortunately I have my blogwork. I have finally time to file my pictures in the right folders read blogs, make comments and surf the net for all kind of things. I have also continued to read this blog since its very beginning and have noticed that I already complained about the weather ! My neighbor is again hospitalized and her daughter asked me to walk the dog once in the afternoon, which I did with pleasure, the funny thing was, it stopped raining probably because I went outside.

3. It's interesting to read and also how blogging has changed, less funny games and themes we played together as groups. Many old bloggers have moved to Facebook, which is not the same at all, or to this useless Google+, where you are not even allowed to comment on blogs without becoming member of this thing.

4. Nicole had a new TV channel provider installed which comes together with internet and telephone in a package. I went over to connect her tablet to her own internet and we also tried out the new channels. The only one who enjoys rain is Charlie the dog, he doesn't bother to be wet like a sponge.



5. We had lunch together in the "Lunch Garden" having Charlie with us is always a lot of fun because everybody who loves dogs asks if they could pet him, how old he is and  start to chat about their own dogs or cats.



This time Charlie was especially happy because for lunch we had half a chicken !He was delighted that it was too much for us and kindly helped us to finish the plate ! He never begs, he only puts his head on my lap and looks at me ! Who could resist such a look.

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. I have the impression that my days are like a pearl necklace, every day the same ... It rains and I only went out for hopping in the warm water during aqua gym. We only were half of our usual group, the others had a cold or the flew !

2. To distract me a bit I went to my friend Nicole, and wanted to spend a nice afternoon with her. Unfortunately a friend of hers came and cried the whole time because her husband has started Alzheimer. We tried our best to comfort her, but we don't really know how to help her I told her to ask the Alzheimer association in Brussels. She certainly can get some help there.

3. On TV there is nothing but dramas, terrorist attacks, or threats, we had two this week, fortunately false alerts caused by hysterical people which ended in a huge traffic jam in Brussels. The security level has been increased as the Jihadists believe that Belgium is the "little" sister of France, which is rather offending especially for the Flemish part of the country !

4. My friend Ilona had asked me to buy her a little tablet, which I did and I just had the time to return home when a thunderstorm started ! The only cat out of my four who bothers about thunder is Arthur usually the hero and most sociable cat, he hid under the bed!

5. In my painting course we had a birthday celebration and a lot of fun, the cake was very good. Here too half of the class was missing for the same reasons as mentioned above.

I wished I could show a nice world in our world, but unfortunately it is not the case. It rains and of course I prefer not to go out for any photo hunting. However I found the solution ! I drove through my city Waterloo, and shot out of the car windows not with a gun of course but with my camera !
