FUN MONDAY - A 40 year old lemon

Odd Shots and Macro Monday are here

This week's host is Jan at The Prytz Family.

The Assignment:

What is the quirkiest thing in your home that you will never give away?

I think that the quirkiest thing in my home is a lemon pig, which will be 40 years old on Dec 6 this year. It was part of the table decoration at our wedding in 1969.

For such an old lemon it still looks very good, not anymore like a table decoration of course but it stands in my vitrine, as souvenir !

You haven't changed much, Gattina, just a little older like all of us. Lovely wedding photo of you both.

  18. Now aren't you and Mr. Gattino the handsome and happy couple! I'm intrigued by your wedding bouquet--what was it made of? Very unusual style. As to the lemon pig--citrus can be preserved for quite some time by rolling in spices and letting air dry. But 40 years! I'm sure you are so happy that in the midst of all the wedding flurry you had the sense to "rescue" this pig. BTW, what's the story behind using a pig for your wedding decoration?
