FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. A rather quiet week ! It was foggy and cold, so on Monday I recovered from the weekend and after my blogging duties, I spent the afternoon watching TV, "Escaped to the country" and some German crime stories, which are always nice, as they are more psychological and without violence scenes and a lot of running blood.

2. There was a nice movie and Nicole and I decided to go the the cinema. It was the story of an old lady who disappeared from her retirement home, where her sons had put her, was found by the grandson and all in all it was a movie plenty of humour and tenderness. After that we had supper in an Italian restaurant, and I had Spaghetti for once,  we eat a lot of pasta at home but Mr. G. doesn't like Spaghetti !

3. I suddenly had an attack of spring cleaning and before it disappeared, I took off all my little cat figurines from the shelves over my bed.



I cleaned them all, and the shelves too of course and now they are clean again for a while.

My son is an "extremist" ! Or I don't get a single pictures of Toby for months or he suddenly sends me a big file which took about 2 h to download !

I spent the afternoon with Ilona and admired the table runner one of her friends had offered her from her trip to India. Of course her cat had to sit on the new thing !


We were discussing an eventual coach tour through England, Ireland and Scotland in June. This would certainly be a wonderful trip. I have to get some more information.

Being on holidays at the Red Sea in Egypt, I don't have to show much, but to tell a lot ! So far we haven't bought anything special, we just walked around and had a glance on what to buy for us and also for Christmas gifts.

We found little things, but of course I can't show them here. But for ourselves we bought these little cats. My friend Chantal is also a cat lover.

When we came back from the beach, we found this beautiful flower arrangement on the bed. Our room boy did it with the fresh towels he brought.

Wednesday was my birthday so I have to show you the gifts I got. We had already celebrated with our friends in Italy so we didn't do anything special this day. And here they are :



From my son I got a wall clock, now hanging over the door in our living room,



from Mr. Gattino this big wooden cat, which now stands in the entry hall.

And I am sure there are still some more to come ! I think I am a very easy person to choose a gift for.

For our wedding anniversary Mr. Gattino offered me



this funny cat. It shakes when you touch it and inside I have put some fashion jewlery.



I love these wooden cats because they have such an elegant shape. It was of course also a gift from Mr. Gattino. Writing this suddenly I get suspicious, does he buy all these cats for himself and I am only a good excuse ? No matter what, they are nice !



These little cats look almost real but they are sitting in a treasure chest.



A friend of mine brought it from Poland.




For Christmas I got this cat from my son, it was a lemon transformed into a cat.



and this tall cat has the size of a four or five year old and watches over the living entry.
