FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

The FFF started or rather ended in a catastrophe ! I had just finished the whole post and must have touched a misterious key, in short, my whole text had disappeared except the title and the link to FFF !

I really don't know what happened so I just do a little resume of the already little post ! Can't invent an exciting life in a still lasting half lockdown. Everything which is distracting and amusing is still closed.

Myriam had asked me to switch scrabble turn with me and I was glad that I had bought a Bresilienne cake at Carrefour supermarket, they have the best and I had put it in the freeze, so I had always something to offer and didn't have to go out.

I had my pedicure coming, as my footnails started to look like Rosie's claws, she is a nice young woman and comes to people's house. The poor girl has a 12 year old boy who has Asperger a sort of Autisme, like the famous Greta who wanted to change the world but didn't succeed, and has now disappeared. Hopefully not with the Coronavirus.

The poor young woman has a son of 12 who was diagnosed (already !!) with the Asperger syndrom, which is a little similar to the more known Autists.

And while the pedicure worked on my feet I listened to her story and the difficulties she has everywhere when she askes for some help.

There is no special school for these children here at least not public once and the poor boy was bullied in his school because he was different then the others. It came to a point that he refused to go to school ! He is very intelligent as these people are often and now she will try another school. Can only wish her luck !

As Mr. G. is well taken care of in his Reha clinic I had finally time for my appointments. I also had to go to the dermatologist for a check up, ever since one of my painting class had skin cancer I am watchful ! Everything was OK. Next doctor is for the eyes ! Hanging so often in front of PC and TV must have changed a little my view.

Besides that we had a water tube broken in the garage, 3 floors under my flat and I only noticed it when I read the paper somebody had put under my door that from 8 to 3 pm we had no water. Apparently they were late because at 8 am I had water and when I took my car at 2.30 pm and they were already gone.

My son will come on Sunday to see his Dad, he has to do a test just for being here not even 24 h because he will return to Amsterdam the same day.

Before collapsing in her lockdown sleep, Rosie meditates about what she could do during one hour when she doesn't sleep ! Fortunately I have her, since Mr. G. is away, I talk to her and she has always the same opinion as me. It's less ridiculous to have a conversation with my cat who even responds,  then talking against a wall.

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

Another Corona lockdown week went by and now I have to write down each day if I have done something special or if something special happened in my daily routine. All days seem to be the same and go by so quickly !

Our footnails had become long and as pedicures are allowed to work, I had called mine for Monday. I have known her through our Facebook city page and she is a medical pedicure. Besides that she also is a chatterbox and I am now updated about all important things which happened in our town.

She had her phone besides her because she has an autistic son and has always to be available. That is often very difficult. This time she was 5 minutes late at school with him and he didn't want to go inside because five minutes are five minutes late and not 9 am sharp ! There was nothing to be done. She had to bring him back home. He lives after the clock and everything has to be in its place and not a millimeter further.

The next day when I got up and opened the curtains, the houses and skeleton like trees were hidden behind a thick fog wall ! By the time I had prepared my Blog posts it cleared up and the fog became a grey sky. This announced a Television day, and internet window shopping ! Of course in between long telephone chats with friends !

As usual our 3 girl group met this time at Myriam's and she had prepared the scrabble game ! Both Nicole and I were not that enthusiastic about playing, but we did and it was good for us to do something else than sit in an armchair and chat.

We admired the swimming pool which she had cleaned for the winter and to break eventual ice, there were empty plastic bottles swimming in the water. It's a lot of work to clean and prepare a pool for the winter !!

The only day in the week when I get up at 7 am is Thursday, because my cleaning woman comes and I have to open the door. And this is also the only day I assist to sun rises. This time it was again beautiful ! I became a real skywatcher in this apartment !

Here is the view I have while sitting on the sofa and drinking my coffee ! Could be worse ! I am really lucky !

As we meet every two days, the two of them came to me this time. Our mayor's assistant died of the Coronavirus yesterday evening, after 5 weeks of intensive care. Although I didn't like the man at all, we had worked together when Waterloo celebrated the bicentenary of the Waterloo battle, I certainly didn't wish him such a terrible dead.

He also was a history writer specialized in Napoleon's life and has written several books about him. He was still quite young, at least too young to die, he was only 57 years old. There will be certainly a lot of funeral ceremonies with restricted number of people as he was quite a well known man.

Still, we had a nice afternoon, the sun was shining through the windows and we talked about the next government meeting where it will be decided if the shops are allowed to open for Christmas and also the rules for December. Anyway the three of us are prepared to celebrate Christmas alone without our children. For me it would be the first time ever since Toby was born, but my first Whatsapp Christmas Eve !

The only one who leads a happy life without any worries, enjoying the sunshine, is little Rosie. Lockdown or not, she anyway never goes out !

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. I still couldn't go out because I felt quite weak after a week of being sick. So I spent my time with some computer work which I had neglected and watched TV !

Arthur watched over my computer and waited that I would come back

2. Mr. G. had very bad toe nails and I had to call a medical pedicure.

While she was busy with his feet, Arthur comforted Mr. G. I think the pedicure lady had never had a client with a cat on his lap !

3. We had a little wood just at the beginning of our street, it was the last reminder of the past when our houses were surrounded by fields with grazing cows. The whole day I heard the noise of chainsaws and when I went out to see what it was, I saw that they were cutting down trees !

Now and before (already reduced for new houses)

Now there are only a few trees left, which will probably be cut down too, and the nice little wood we had and where the kids played and built little huts will disappear forever and make space for new houses to be built. It seems that everybody now wants to move to Waterloo ! More and more houses are built.

4.

When your desk is just in front of your window you can see everything what happened in the street. Here I saw a group of Jehovah witnesses walking from house door to house door, which avoided me to open the door when they rang at our door.

5. Despite feeling so weak, I went to my painting class and it had been a good idea, being amongst people again and chatting and laughing is also good for a recovery. I didn't work very much, I had a lack of inspiration, but still it was a nice morning !
