13 REASONS WHY RICE IS EXPENSIVE
Never go in a Supermarket when you only need one item ! Yesterday I needed some Basmati rice just one package and thought I quickly jump in and out to get it. And when I got out I had :
1. My package of rice of course
2. two bath towles because they were on sale (sooo cheap)
3. two bath rags (because they were also on sale) After that I went out to get a caddy.
4. four canvas which I don't need right now, but they were on promotion
5. Toys for kitten Rosie, because I just went by the animal section
6. 1 bottle of parquet cleaner because suddenly I wasn't sure if there was some left (there were 2 bottles left)
7. One case for my camera although I have already one, but that would be for the second camera and then they were on sales ! (sooo cheap)
8. A thermos for coffee, which I might need if ever we make a long trip by car. (we never do) On sale of course !
9. A thermo bag which I also may need for the same purpose (you never know)
10. 2 bottles of shampoo, because they were on promotion, coming home I found 4 !
11. Cat litter, what I never buy because Mr. Gattino does it, now we have a nice stock !
12. A long T-Shirt to be worn as pajama because it had such a cute cat on the front and it was on sales I couldn't miss that !
13. Two flat cushions for my car to protect the seats, although I have my car since 5 years, why didn't I think about it before ? But they were on sale couldn't miss the occasion.
When I payed I thought "this rice is expensive" !
I so know what you mean. I hate it when I need milk or bread...I come out of the grocery store with 20 extra things!
ReplyDeleteGreat Thursday Thirteen!
That happens to me many times too. To buy one thing and come out with more than one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.
GAttina, I agree that rice is darn expensive!
ReplyDeleteOh, I never laughed so hard. It so true how expensive just one item is. I take a list and never come home with whats on my list, of course, other things were always on sale and distracted me. Great list.
ReplyDeleteWow, I never knew all those things came with one pack of rice!
ReplyDeleteHeeheehee,I've done exactly the same thing and it sure does make the original item expensive.
boy, would I love to go shopping with you.
ReplyDeleteexcept I HATE TO SHOP. truly.
That's like the free trip to England my parents won once. Came home saying there is nothing as expensive as a free vacation!
ReplyDeleteHappy TT.
I've found that a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread are really expensive too! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and the suggestion of an ex lover...now that would be nice...but I didn't recognise the voice at all. So far no repeat calls...maybe they don't like four letter words telling them to go away...lol lol!
ReplyDeleteThis happens to me all the time. What a good idea this list was for a Thursday 13.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh as always Gattina and you are so right. We don't have a car, so I have a bag with wheels to help carry stuff home. With three boys we go through lots of milk sold in liter cartons. Whenever I forget my bag because I'm only buying a few things is when I end up buying a whole bunch of stuff. My shoulders always regret it.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't it amazing how easy it is to pick up stuff on sale because you think you might need it down the road? LOL!
Thats the reason I usually do the shopping instead of my wife. I'm usually in a hurry and if I don't have time I don't seem to see as many accessories for the original item.

I argee...it was expensive rice! I had to laugh as it happens to me all too often (the super markets call it impulse buying!) They say you spend 8 dollars for every minute you spend in the market.
ReplyDeleteI so know the feeling. I will do the exact same thing. Go in just for one or two items and end up spending $100 ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Happy TT
ROFLMAO! That is so true!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like me!
ReplyDeleteButt I use to come out without the
thing I went in there for! *giggles*
There are several cruisers meeting right now. Renny and Tor in Mariestad, Mar and Claudie in Marseilles - and in about a week or so Tor and myself at Fårö!!!
Exciting huh?
I wish we all could meet somewhere in the future!!!!
I'll tell you, you really struck a nerve with this list.
ReplyDeleteWe ALL have this problem. Even us guys can totally identify with this disease.
It's even worse when I go to the store hungry too.
LMAO...I think that happens to everyone;) Happy TT.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! The Dollar Store is really, really expensive because everything is so cheap I buy way too much!
ReplyDeletei know so well how it goes! My recent shopping was a little different...I got given to me two beautiful gifts by others when I was out and about: a gorgeous watch and a beautiful handbag. I've got good friends!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I do that practically every time I go in to a store. Even if I am trying very hard not to! I just go get a cart now...I get tired of getting to the back of the store, juggling 30 items while trying to make it to the front for a cart. I usually drop something, which starts an avalanche. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat "13" post! ;) Thanks for sharing it!
You are incredible. And just like me.
ReplyDeleteAnna gives me a shopping list with one item, I return with food for 13 days. And that repeats every week.
We need a packhouse;))
Sittinga the same table as renny - guess what we are doing?

The ladies is on the balcony.
Bwahahahaaaa! You´re not alone! I´ve bought 2 liters of milk yesterday... and paid 56,90 €! *LOL* My purse was empty, and the trunk was full! You see... milk is expensive and voluminous ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to go into the store with a list and stick to it or I will come out with some very expensive "rice" also. That was so funny but so true, Thank you Gattina for sharing that with us. connie
ReplyDeleteHahaha, That happens to me all the time. Especially at Target. I mean, you HAD to get the rugs to match the towels!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, my list is up too!
I do the same thing -- I almost aways come out with more than I went in for. But you wrote about it in such an amusing way.:)
ReplyDeleteROFL Oh Gattina this T13 is so funny... and I can so much relate to it. I am terribly bad that way too. Go in for one item and come out with a dozen.
ReplyDeletebwahahaahaha :) Gattina you are so funny, you remind me of me too.. Those sale items are so irresistable... that's why my husband doesn't want to bring me to those super big supermarkets (need to drive in the autobahn to get there so can't make it, i need him) this is is his favorite line, almost like a chant" that's not in your list!, that's not in your list!"
