Sitting in the garden (yard) of a friend and drinking a glass, we suddenly had the visit of a pheasant who wasn't shy at all and was pleased to get some pieces of our cake !
That's so cool! Haven't seen a pheasant since moving from PA to NC. Thanks for sharing at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/06/more-quarantine-baking.html
Living on a farm we get a lot of pheasants. The last few mornings we have had a hen pheasant keep walking around the lawn, and today I found out why. I have a raised strawberry bed and they are starting to ripen. The birds like the strawberries as much as we do so we went to net it today. Right in the centre of the bed was a nest with a solitary egg in it. She won't miss one egg but will have to find somewhere else for her nest.
A very peaceful post.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I'm afraid a pheasant wouldn't last long in our garden - the cats would stalk it and the dogs would constantly 'flush' it!
ReplyDeleteA lot nicer than our bugs and beetles!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a pleasant visitor. Lucky pheasant to get some cake :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's the first photograph of a pheasant I've ever seen.

That's quite a fat one. Although I wouldn't know as I've never seen a pheasant before.
ReplyDeletewhat an unusual sight, I would say.
