GALLERY WELLINGTON - WATERLOO

One year after our arrival in Waterloo in 1975, which at that time was rather a big village, it started to expand from a village to a small town. The first supermarket showed up and the Wellington Gallery was built in 1976. Initially the gallery had only one wing with a dozen shops. Now there are more than 80 shops, snacks, hairdressers and a cinema,  that share the 6540 square meters of the gallery.

It's especially nice to walk through the gallery when the weather is cold or bad. There are a lot of posh boutiques, leather goods and shoe shops too. The prices are accordingly.

At the entrance my grandson is waiting for us

a little further there is a nice Italian restaurant

Coffee, drinks and snacks are served here

I loved this umbrella !

and clothes.

Grandson went to the hairdresser (see post below) and after some window shopping we returned home.

  6. That's really a very nice gallery (or mall as we might call it).... I like window shopping once in a while in a posh place like this. Although not my usual kind of shops to spend $$, they are definitely prettier to look at than mine. You need that umbrella!

  7. PS: I notice on your live traffic feed gadget that I am from San Francisco. LOL, you could have fooled me -- it looks like Fort Myers Florida from here. (I've seen that on other blogs too, I have no idea why it thinks I'm in California!)

  8. Wow, that is a lot of shops! We have to go into the local big town - which is more of a city as we only have a small handful of shops here which just sell food and bits and bobs.
