McNeil Butisol Sodium
Brand name for butabarbital. "Mabel is unstable...it's 'that time' in her life. To see her through the menopause, there's gentle 'daytime sedation' in Butisol Sodium."

  2. it's good to know women knew their place in those days. and their place was behind a sink full of sparkling clean dishes!

  3. Hilarious! But strange too, that women thought that this stuff was good.

  4. The harder she works, the cuter she looks! Good grief! Women were such victims in those days, especially with all the advertising directed against them (written by men)!! That "Mabel is unstable" makes my skin crawl.
I did laugh at the ad for household appliances for Christmas. :~)

  7. I think people were better in my Mom's time. So were the products they used.
We had Tony back then to curl hair and it curled by George Today we use other products and they do nothing.Women used to get up and make themselves pretty before leaving their room and going to bed was equally a designer thing.
My Mom did not want people to find her in disarray if she happened to die at night.
When she did die she was in diapers and pj's on her bed. No negligees and no wigs and no makeup.

  8. And we never complained in those days. Society conditioned us to think this was OK. Well done women liberationists but there is still ways to go.
