WEEKLY WINNERS -Waterloo Christmas Market

More participants here at Sarcastic Mom Weekly winners

The annual Christmas Market in Waterloo takes always place in a tent. Usually because of the rain, but this weekend the weather made an exception and the sun was shining.

The entrance

hot wine, beer or champagne, people are always thirsty.

Waterloo has its own beer

The Lions Club is there too of course

For the first time there was an ice skating ring, not real ice of course

but it had the same effect !

and then it started to snow and this is the view out of my room's window this morning.

  1. Here they are skating rinks LOL. Same smell. I get on one and I fall so I just watch from the side lines. Oooh your own beer...now I know where I would be hanging out. Great photos :)

  2. If not REAL ice, what then? We have things like that but they are freezers so they spray with water and it freezes and makes ice... I've never heard of fake ice! I had no idea the Lions Club was in Belgium either! SO much education I get today!!! ENJOY your snow! I'm ready for mine to go away now!

  3. I so enjoyed looking at the pictures and love your background and banner. I am going to follow this blog too. :) I wish there was such a health program in the US as European countries have. I think the problem started with being a capitalistic country. With capitalism there is not a central philosophy of caring for each other. The only mandated health insurance is Medicare and Medicaid. If you are over 65 or if you are disabled, you can get health coverage here. If you are a child and the family income is 135% BELOW the poverty line, that child can get Medicaid. Very poor people can get Medicaid if they qualify for welfare. We are able to get Medicaid for our 17 year old because she is a minor and because we are disabled. However, the older children, although they are the working poor, make a little too much money to qualify for assistance. Also they are not disabled. College students are not covered right now. So, you see, our country mandates coverage for only a very small group of people, the extremely needy. That is a good thing. It's just that we are such a wealthy country there is no excuse not to help the working poor who are at the poverty level.

  9. this is a practical Christmas market, it's not too cold and you won't get wet if the rain starts falling... i've noticed though here in Germany if the weather is really, really cold - then you have lots of people in the Weihnachtsmarkt, but if the weather is just mild then you don't have too many people outside...
