Mesmerizing! I'v read that the abbey in Villers la Ville (Cistercienzers) was founded in 1147 and those ruins are amongst the most prestigious ones in Europa..
How beautiful, Gattina. I'm getting such lovely ideas of where to visit from the pictures you put up on your posts. That old abbey is just lovely...even if it is a ruin.
I just LOVE these types of places when I see them. I itch to travel. One itch that I cannot scratch--just yet--but someday I will buy a special stick to scratch deeply! LOL
I would have LOVED to go with your walking through the ruins. Historical things and places like this are always so intriguing and I always wonder what the walls could tell us.
I t must be nice to have historic ruins to visit. Here we do not build anything to last long enough to some day be visited as ruins. Our Northern historical edifices are burned down or bulldosed when no longer used.
Beautiful ruins! I'll come back as soon as possible to see more! A demain!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to explore! It looks so vintage/antique-y there. I look forward to your pics every week since I don't get to travel much :)
