FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

Monday my hairdresser came and cut my hair which had grown quicker then usual ! Mr. G had spent  his weekend at the hospital and seemed to be quite satisfied. That changed on Monday evening when I called him, he wanted to come home ! I told him that it was impossible and that's not my decision but the doctor's.

I tried to recover from the last stressing weeks and only drove my scrabble girls to the only one who lives in the next town. I still am the only one  who loves to  drive, so I am the "chauffeur" !

In her garden spring had slowly moved in we could observe all kind of birds drinking out of the little pond.

After our game where we all had almost the same points and two cakes with coffee, I drove them back to  Waterloo.

We noticed a that the Japonese Cherry trees had started to bloom. It was sunny bad rather cold

On Wednesday I did some shopping, and also bought 5 T- shirts for Mr. G.which I brought him in the afternoon. No way to visit him I had to give my bag with the laundry to a nurse and got the dirty one back. Amongst the dirty laundry I found some clean once, he hadn't noticed the difference.

I did the laundry and also called him in the evening, but he was angry that he was not allowed to come home. The tests with all the machines have not yet been done. Sometimes he is a bit confused and then normal again !

Myriam came and we watched a few movies about the Acrylic painting in modern Art. It was funny what the painters used ! Nail brushes, spatulas, clothes pin, squeegee for windows, etc. Everything except a brush !

Today I finally could talk to the doctor who takes care of Mr.G and she told me that he is a special case (that I knew) they did a lot of memory tests with him and apparently he answered well to things which normally people don't know and those which everyone knows he didn't know !

Our governement has again restricted our lockdown, now the hairdressers are again closed and all "non essential shops" ! Of course it's never their fault, that they hadn't ordered enough vaccins ! I decided not to watch the news anymore !

Fortunately when I go out and see that spring really tries to move in, I feel a little better !

The fields look beautiful

and I "planted" fake flowers in my cat pots, it looks really nice. The furniture is not yet put up it's still a little to cold.

I don't know if you have seen the eruption of a volcano in Iceland with a meter long unspeakable name but as you can see I was there !

MY LOCKED UP LIFE

Ever since we are locked up in our homes and are only allowed to go out for food shopping or the pharmacy the weather has changed ! Now we have beautiful sunshine and nature is blooming everywhere, the trees in our street as you can see above are in full bloom.

Of course we can go out but only near where you live and always two people in 1.50 m distance. Unfortunately some people don't respect the rules and played on the grass in the parks or were sitting there and pic nic, so that the mayor closed the parks !

Anyway you can walk on the street,  there is no car or very few. Fortunately you are allowed to walk your dog or even three, but not three humans and one dog ! Police controls that only two persons are sitting in a car or it has to be a whole family.

I had to drive Myriam home we had walked a little bit, but then the wind was so cold and that we returned to my car and she had to sit on the back seat.

Slowly I get used to this life, which seems to me so unreal. I feel as if I am playing in a movie and not a very pleasant one. Fortunately we have Whatsapp and stay in contact with each other. The days go by always the same but today I got some hope, it was the first time since we are locked up, that there was no deaths for two days and less infected people. Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The whole world is involved for once, all with the same destiny, the worst affected country is Italy. More deaths than in China.

This is a 16 year old boy who sings from his parent's balcony !

Each evening all Italians go on their balcony or outside and are singing against the Virus !

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

We had to change our Scrabble day because one couldn't come on a Tuesday anymore so we decided to meet on Mondays. It was my turn and as usual I only bought English stuff because all the others serve the cakes etc from here. I had bought a fruitcake, little round pancakes, Donuts, the so appreciated sour cream and of course Blueberry jam. They emptied the whole pot of sour cream, and only two Donuts were left ! Mr. G. cleaned it off after supper ! For once I was second ! And the one who always wins was last !!

The weather had changed and now it was sunny and I had to think of all repairs to be done outside ! There is a step which is loose, the wooden border of the rockery rotten and has to be replaced, the door of the mailbox is loose etc etc. I had found two men who do such work for people who are too old or can't do it. They will come end of the week to give me a quote ! In the past Mr. G. has done such things, but now he can't do it anymore and me neither.

I had some shopping to do for my painting class and noticed Easter decoration in the whole shop there was nothing else ! I had completely forgotten about Easter and had to google to see on which date it was and it is exactly in a month !

Son and grandson will come over the weekend and I am very happy to see "little" Toby again, it has been a long time I hadn't seen him life, fortunately Whatsapp exists ! On my way back I stopped at Myriam's to show her the new program of lots of daily excursions for us, and we choose already two we want to go, it's always for a day, the first one will be Liège where an Exposition about the 80 takes place. The other one takes us to the Netherlands to the Keukenhof famous for his tulip fields.

Since two days spring shows its nose it is still cold in the mornings and evenings but during the day, you don't need  a winter coat anymore

In all streets of Waterloo Japanese cherry trees had been planted and now they bloom and it looks so pretty and tiny little flowers come out of the grass

In our painting course new energies and ideas came out and new paintings were started. The messy table is mine, I just had tried to do a abstract painting. We were all in an excellent mood and were all very cheerful ! After class we went to the Lunch Garden where we arrived at 12.15 and left at nearly 3 pm, so much to chat ! The main menu was "Fish and Chips" which of course I ordered, the fish was good, but the chips were on diet and very skinny !

When I came home Arthur was busy with a sunbath !
