WEEKEND MARS 2

Poor kids and poor working people ! While we had nearly spring during the last 2 weeks the weekend and the school holidays are "blessed" with rain and storm this weekend and the following week.

I spent Saturday home where it was warm and cosy and hopped from TV to Computer and the other way around.

The neighbor's cat sat on the garden shed and played stalker, while I was busy with Internet shopping. Unfortunately I had discovered that lots of things are much cheaper and of course I found things I absolutely needed, which were a weather station (ours was broken) indicating inside and outside temperatures, cat food and a scratching post, because when cat's can't go outside they choose chairs and armchairs for their pedicure ! I was very proud because I got everything nearly half price as if I would have bought the things in a shop and I didn't have to go out and get wet.

The day ended with watching Inspector Lewis and I walked again through Oxford as I had done during 4 days 4 years ago ! Only at that time I looked for Inspector Morse ! Of course Rosie watched with me while Arthur prefered Mr. G.

Sunday Nicole and I were fed up to stay home and we met with another friend in a little Restaurant "La Brioche" where they have a Breakfast buffet with a great choice. After breakfast which was almost a lunch, we went to a Garden Center, the only shop open on a Sunday. But it is huge ! We arrived at 2 pm and left at 4 ! There was so much to see !

and while outside the wind blew and it was cold and humid we enjoyed flowers and their beautiful colors. Nicole bought the 3 little trees for her terrace and an ivy in a pot. Then she saw this cute little sheep out of stone and bought it too.

In the animal section there was this toy for dogs which she put on her head and of course made us and the people around laugh ! She looked terrific ! Then we had walked and seen enough and were very thirsty.

We stopped in a nice little town and went in a old Café/Pub called "De Zwaan" which means the Swan. We were in the Flemish part of Brussels surroundings.

Of course we all had a beer to quench our thirst. There were not many people yet but when we left the café was full.

We spent a very nice day and I had bought 5 flower pots because the once I had for years were now broken.

WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND ?

Helps you to remember what you have done on the weekend of March 30. If you participate please put the little logo on the top of your post and leave your link.

Our weekly "conversation" with Toby was rather short, he was very busy with other things and had no patience at all to see his Nonna and Nonno's faces. We finally got a smile after Daddy probably had encouraged him to do so. Of course for a two year old telephone conversations are rather boring, I think when he is in his teens he will have the phone stuck to his ears !

We were supposed to go to Amsterdam to celebrate Easter together, but as we both were sick and still not running at 100 % we preferred to stay home.

I had no energy this year to take out our Easter decoration and decorate the house, the only thing I did was buying this couple and put it on top of the TV set.

As we stay home we "babysit" Dominique's little birdie. I think it likes our guest room very much because since its arrival it has laid two eggs on which it is sitting now. Mr. G. hopes for a nice omelette, and our cats try to get into the room where the birdie twitters ! Apparently it is a member of Twitter.

Ilona and I are suffering from this long lasting winter and were really color hungry. So on Saturday we went to a Garden store and did a little walk through there at least it was warm ! After having bought some potting soil and two little cat statues for our garden, we went to her house and had tea in front of the burning stove !  Fortunately we don't have a "White Easter" !

This night we were switched to summer time and had to get up one hour earlier. I don't care for an hour I don't even realize. We have a second animal to feed, our neighbor's cat Chouchou because they went on holidays to France. Of course Chouchou doesn't care about summer time either and was rather happy when I brought her breakfast so early ! As soon as I open the garage door she already sits in the middle of the street and shows me the way to her bowl !

On Easter Sunday we had 0°C (32 F) which increased to 4° (37 F) a tropical temperature. Nevertheless I wanted to go photohunting as I run out of pictures  ! I dressed myself for an expedition to the North Pole and drove to Brussels.

Brussels City had organized an Easter Egg hunting for the kids in the Royal Park of Brussels. The park is just in front of the Royal Palace. Despite the cold weather there were lots of tourists around. The Park was packed with children and their parents, the egg hunting had just finished and I heard that 30 thousand eggs had been distributed ! There were lots of activities for the children and stalls with food, and even seats with tables but it was far too cold to sit there ! I made a very quick tour and then hurried back to my car, where I put the heating on a maximum ! After not even two hours I was back home and downloaded the pictures. The rest of the day we spent watching TV and rested.

I think it was the first time that I saw the park without any green leaves or even a little sign of a sprout. It still looked like deep winter, now on a first of April !

OUR WORLD - Oh Green Store

Click on logo to join other participants

I like to stroll through big garden stores and see the flowers and decoration. It's especially nice when it's quiet cool and you don't want to walk through a park.

I had been at OH GREEN quiet a few years ago, and it had changed a lot ! It has become enormous ! It is located in the middle of the countryside and I only found it thanks to my Madame GPS.

Many people had the same idea as I

Outside big items are shown, like garden sheds and furniture

even barns for little life stock

Greenhouses and play items

little swimming pools with cabines

a nice little park

where you can overlook the roof of the building

and at the same time gives you an idea how to create a pond

Inside you have a lot of choice of garden decoration

or inside decoration

and all possible things you need to work and entertain your yard.

You could stay there the whole day ! Unfortunately my battery died when I wanted to take a picture of the surroundings with cows on a field.
