FRIDAY's FAVORITE FIVES

We wanted to start the week as usual with our Scrabble game, but due to the confinement only my two friends Nicole and Myriam met at Nicole's because the others couldn't come, one lived too far, and the second found it to dangerous as she has diabetes  so we were the three of us to share a cake and drink a coffee and sat on the terrace as it was so warm in the sun. Finally we didn't scrabble at all, we were far too lazy !

Although it was still cool we enjoyed the view on the blooming trees and green shrubs.

Myriam and Nicole did a little walk around the garden, while I was watching them from the terrace, because for me the wind was too cold.

I kept company to little Isis who also enjoyed the view sitting on the wall and then on her cat tower. Ever since she slipped and fell down one floor, Nicole has put a grid on the wall but I am sure that poor Isis won't try to jump down again, she was very shocked when Nicole picked her up.

Despite the lockup I had to do some shopping and did it in the afternoon again, because I knew that in the morning everybody rushes to do their shopping.

It was a real pleasure there were no people in the store or maybe a few but I didn't see them the shelves were filled up again and I could buy what I needed.

The next day I was a good girl and stayed the whole day home, we had started a group on Whatsapp with our Scrabble members and as we are all confined at home, we had fun with Whatsapp. We even discovered that we could talk to each other, four persons at the same time. So another day went by, with some more deaths and some more infected people.

And the sun continued to shine and I had the feeling that the ceiling was falling on my head. The same happened to Myriam and Nicole and we decided to do a little walk again

There is a little park just besides Myriam's house as we are not allowed to go further then your own part of the city. Suddenly we saw a police car coming who chased the two young women away who sat there peacefully in the grass and ate a sandwich. I am sure that somebody from the houses around had called them, because in this area you seldom see a policeman. Some people are really disgusting. They hadn't done any harm. The two policemen went away after a few minutes and as they laughed I thought that's good for those who had called them !

We returned to Myriam and sat in the warm sunshine at her swimming pool and thought how lucky we were not to live in the city in a high rise building ! We were almost feeling like holidays. Of course we also keep the required distance, there was enough room for the three of us.

Otherwise each day is the same you can't go far unless you have to drive to  work, but then you have to have a document if ever a police control stops you.

Slowly slowly this vicious virus is arriving in all countries of the world and nobody knows how long this lockup will last !

AWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND MAY 4

Where is Isis ?

Linking to AWWW MONDAYS

******

On Saturday I went to to the clinic to bring some wafles and clean laundry to Mr. G. I was happy that he wanted to have something to eat, which so far he has refused. Everything which visitors have left I had either to throw away or give it away.

He is still very weak but can walk on crutches now.  We started to have a conversation about our house which becomes too big for the two of us and I am so fed up of the garden. It costs a lot when you have to pay somebody for everything because we can't do it anymore. Of course he was not very enthusiastic although he never goes in the garden or terrace, but he agreed that it becomes too much. There are reparations to be done and when we were young we all did this ourselves but now that we are belonging to the antiques it's not possible anymore. There are still our 3 cats, so it won't be before next year. They are very old anyway, 20 and 18. Rosie is only 12 years old. We discussed the whole afternoon and then he was terribly tired and I left.

It was really a lousy weekend. All my 4 scrabble friends were on holidays, Nicole with her children in Normandy for her birthday, Myriam visited her sister in the South of France and Mireille somewhere in the North of France. Ilona had another occupation, so I decided to go to the market, just to go out a bit. When I arrived it started to rain mixed with hail and everybody on the market ran to bring his things in the cars. As I was already out I thought I will do some tourist watching at the Waterloo Lion as I have often done years before.

First I comforted me with an Australian ice cream (in this cold) and watched little bikers learning traffic rules.

The Lion area was empty like my wallet, since the renovation there is only one new built restaurant  under the Lion and not the old romantic restaurants and cafés as before the bi-centenary ! At that time even with rain, snow or hail there were always lots of visitors.

The Lion was bored and looked over the green fields.

Suddenly a queue of old 2CV came from the parking to join an "Old Timer" gathering in Waterloo. Meanwhile I had enough of this cold weather although I didn't leave the car, but it was not very pleasant to drive when it hailed.

The "excursion" took me maybe one and a half hour and I was back home. I had some lunch and gave cat Arthur a slice of ham otherwise he didn't leave me in peace and I was exhausted. I watched a movie on TV and suddenly the phone rang and I realized that I had fallen asleep. It was my son to ask how I am, what should I say, besides the fact that I am still alive. I am worn out.  I think women can understand better then man. Or he doesn't realize that his mother is not 30 anymore. It's note the physical tiredness but the psychological. Things which didn't bother me in the past become mountains now !

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

PHOTO MEMES ARE Here

1. The school holidays have started and the good thing is there is a lot less traffic in the city. Summer sales have started too and are lasting until the end of the month. In Belgium there are only twice "Sales" one on first of July and one first of January.

I didn't join the female crowd and storm into shops to catch a bargain. I wait until the end of the sales in case I need something because then it's really cheap.

2. It is still very hot here around 30 ° (86 F) I live with closed shutters to keep the heat out of the house. But I am lucky in our yard under the pergola it is nice and cool and the wind is blowing a bit.

3. This is my office for the moment, I really wished it would last at least the whole summer, it could rain during night, but not during the day !

4. Nicole owner of dog Charlie was very unhappy since he died more than a year ago. She told me she couldn't live without an animal. To adopt a dog was impossible, because she lives in a flat and would have to go out all the time and it's also difficult to find a place when you go on holidays. Her daughter works in an animal refuge and had sent her a picture of this cute cat. She is already adult but is a little cat and is supposed to be a Birman cat. Why she landed in a refuge is unknown probably she has a little breed fault somewhere. Of course I had to see her and she is real cute, and not shy at all after she spent the whole afternoon in the dark under the staircase until she finally came out !

I only saw her the next day on the way to our Scrabble group, I stopped at Nicole's  to finally see her and fell in love ! Now Nicole is happy, when she comes home, there is somebody waiting for her.

5. We had again a very nice Scrabble afternoon, followed by coffee and and excellent cake !

It was very hot and we only did one game. Nobody went into the swimming pool though !
