PHOTO MEMES ARE here
The week started me feeling like on holidays, the sun was shining and it was warm, despite the weatherman's announced rain !
We could scrabble outside. We were only 3 because Nicole is on Holidays in Turkey and the other friend makes a round trip through the USA. It's always nice to get together and after the game we chat over a cup of coffee with cake.
The fake flowers in our front yard got competition
The rhododendron was in full bloom ! Unfortunately now it starts to loose the petals !
This year in August I will make a big trip as you can see below ! I am travelling with my friend Bunny and we had to prepare all documents and papers and whatsoever for the Russian visa !
It was so complicated ! Now we have all informations I "only" have to fill in the application form and gather all requested documents. To my surprise when I called the Russian Embassy the guy spoke English and not French. In the past nobody spoke English it was forbidden because of the cold war. The only foreign language which was allowed was French the once official language for diplomats. At the consulate it was the same but I could choose between English and French, but the girl there also preferred English.
Aqua gym was as usual, we were not many people, most of the retired people are on holidays now to avoid the mass with children and expensive prices in July and August, which is high season mostly everywhere. So we had more than enough room to hop around.
It had been over a week that we haven't met Ilona, because she had a lot of work to do in her house, replacing the floors, paint the walls etc. But yesterday we could sit in her garden it was so warm that we moved into the shade under a tree.

In the evening a thunderstorm started, fortunately apart from very heavy rain we had nothing, but in other parts around Waterloo there were a lot of flooding, and lots of damages ! Poor people who lost all their furniture and the houses are full of mud.
What an amazing trip you are planning for August. So many countries and so much to see and do. Don't forget the poor bloggers at home going nowhere. We will need lots of details.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That's going to be an amazing trip!! And your husband isn't going???!!
ReplyDeleteOur youngest gal the ballerina is 19 and majoring in Russian and Sociology with a minor in ballet at the University of New Hampshire. I believe it is next summer that they will be going to Russia. She cannot wait!
That's a great shot of the lightning you took!!
Happy weekend!
Your rhododendron is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks amazing. We have no big trips planned, although we are going to Norfolk, Virginia in September for an Army Reunion!
Have a great weekend!!!
That's going to be quite a trip!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's really a big trip. I bet you'll have tons of fun visiting those countries :-)
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of rain forecast here, too, but didn't get much - one strong thunderstorm one night. Wow, that looks like a huge trip! You are brave!
ReplyDeleteWow that's an ambitious trip. Will look forward to seeing your photos and comments. Sorry to hear about the flooding. We had storms here but nothing so devastating. Yes Grandson #2 is here. They live in Nottingham which is a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive from here depending on the traffic. Not too bad but of course we won't see him as often as we do Nathan. But Facebook & Instagram etc means we get to see lots of pictures of him!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great trip. Quite jealous of you! Will it be by bus?
ReplyDeleteThat is one amazing trip that you will be going on. Your rhododendron is gorgeous. It is hot here too. It went from spring to summer overnight. I don't like that. I prefer for the temperatures to rise slowly.
ReplyDeleteThat rhododendron is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly having a great travel adventure! That looks like a fabulous trip! Enjoy!
I'm glad you escaped the worst of the storm.
