SKYWATCH FRIDAY - FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE - FIVE ON FRIDAY

Amsterdam/Ijburg

More participants here at

1. This time for our scrabble we met at Myriam's for once she was free, her boyfriend had other things to do and so he wasn't in our feet. Of course I lost, but I had so much to tell about my stay in Amsterdam and my admiration for the different types of bicycles

Imagination and creativity have no limits !! We all found that the Netherlands compared to other countries are very special. Don't make a car insurance for your partner for a million $ but rather a bike insurance there is more chance that you get the money.

2. My neighbor since 1975 had cancer was healed and now it came back and with force, there is nothing to do anymore than to let her go in peace. Now she is home and I visited her. She is 78 and the kind of girl who even in these circumstances prefers laughter to pity. I didn't have to do an effort, I entered the room and immediately stumbled over a few tubes which are connected to her. She laughed and I ranted that she is not wireless, and old fashioned. She invited me to sit down. I choose the next chair close to her bed. No, not this one she laughed ! Of course I had choose the commode ! I sprang up and let me fall into a chair ! This had been my entrance !  Behind my cheerful face I felt completely different. She had become so skinny, like an anorexic girl. But for chatting she still has forces. She gets very strong painkillers so that she doesn't suffer. She can't eat anymore and gets the food through a tube day and night. She is the one I always drove to the hospital to get the shot in her eye. And that too is awful she can hardly watch TV and not reading at all.  We all wish so much that it will not last too long until she will pass away.

4. Last year I had completely forgotten about Halloween, it is not very much celebrated here.
But this year I put a skeleton out and a pumpkin and a few children rang at the door.

I loved the wolf very much !

5. Since weeks I was looking for a parka and of course when you have something in your mind you won't find anything. Nicole needed a pullover. It was cool and humid and we decided to go in the nearby shopping mall in Nivelles. That was a very good idea, because not only we had a wonderful lunch, but I also found my parka and she her pullover.

After a nice coffee we returned home the day was nearly over. Mr. G. approved my new purchase and liked it very much.

  1. Love the new jacket! I bought myself a new one last year (black), but if I would have needed one, I would have bought something colourful like yours.

  8. I like the variety of bikes! How neat is must be to live in a community where a lot of people ride.

I'm sorry about your friend. I am sure your entrance was great fun for her. It's good she can keep a cheerful disposition even in her situation. I prayed for her.

The parka is very pretty! Where we used to live we got over a hundred trick-or-treaters, but we've gotten none since living where we are now. I think many families go to community and church events where they know it will be safe.

Hurray on getting the parka! It's great when you actually find something you've been looking for.
I'm sorry for your neighbor--I love her attitude, though. I'm glad you are able to bring her joy and laughter.

  11. I am very sorry for what your friend is going through. She sounds like a wonderful lady who has a wonderful sense of humor. Love the pics of all the bikes. Such a different lifestyle than what is chosen here in North America. We all just jump in our cars to go everywhere!
