FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

1. Again a week flew by so quickly that I have the impression that yesterday was Monday. Over our Scrabble this time lay the shadow of Charlie's death. Although Mireille has also a big dog called Tosca, she didn't have this cute round face and the big brown eyes like Charlie. But she is a very friendly dog and loved our company.

I couldn't take a picture of her face, because each time I tried, she ran towards me and the only picture I got was her nose !

2. I still suffer from a terrible lack of energy and am tired. I thought maybe another head would do me good, and went to the hairdresser. I asked to just cut what had grown half a cm, but when I saw my head at the end I thought her cm must be bigger than mine.

Each time I look in the mirror I think it is another person, but hairs grow.

3. My friend and neighbor  since 42 years, was in a terrible state she had lost her little dog because he was very old and just couldn't make it anymore. I hope there will be no other animals dying around me !

4. The house just besides ours where Dominique lived before her marriage is now for rent. I saw it on a poster. For 15 years we had shared our lives, went on travels spent New Years together and she was part of the family, since her marriage in September I saw her once, where she excused herself that she had never called and then she invited me for lunch the following week. This had been just after New Year and ever since I haven't heard of her. The last week she was here with her new husband to paint some rooms, but she didn't even come over to say hello. We didn't move either. Nobody understands her behaviour, not even her children.

5.
We had no painting class because of school holidays, and as the weather was cool and grey, 3 of our group of 5 decided to play Scrabble.

This time my Pookie and Arthur stayed with us, as Charlie wasn't there anymore. They were no problems between them, but maybe the cats didn't like his dog perfume. As usual Mireille who is half blind won and I for once had a good score, had never had so many points ! We had a chatty afternoon with a good apple cake. Mr. G. came later and tried to put his nose in our game, but we chased him away ! Poor man.

  1. If it was a gay male hairdresser, I could understand why his centimetres might be longer than most people's.

  4. So sad about all the animals dying and so sad about your friend's behavior. Perhaps with the new man in her life she thinks it's time to move on. I'm sorry you lost her.

  5. So sad when our pets and the furry creatures that belong to our friends go to Rainbow Bridge. It always makes me very sad. Especially when an animals has been the companion to someone who is alone.
I also have very short hair, and during my hospital day the medication caused much of it to fall out. I sure hope mine grows back!
I am so sad to here of Dominique and her behaviour. Could it be the new husband? Perhaps he is jealous of her previous life. It is this way with my ex-husband and his new girlfriend. She is very jealous and does not want to share in family holidays if I am there.
It is good for me to be home from the hospital and I am starting to feel well after being ill for 7 longs weeks.

  6. It's always sad when we lose pets. I think your hair looks ok but I expect you will feel better when it has grown slightly. Hairdresser measurements do vary! I hope some warmer weather will help you fully recover from the bronchitis. I think when we're not feeling so good mentally it doesn't help the physical recovery.

  11. Hello,
Love to see your dog. She always wants to be with you rather than he gets in shots!
Your haircut is very nice and hairs is beautiful. I had my hairs dyed dark brown for years, because some white hairs appeared. However, recently I decided not to dye anymore. I accept my hair changing to gray naturally.
Hope you have a happy weekend.

  14. I had the opposite hair problem for a long while. Mine looks best about shoulder length, and I don't like to go get it cut that often, so I like for them to cut about 1 1/2 to 2 inches at a time. But it's hard to get them to cut much more than an inch. Maybe with short hair they go shorter and with long hair they stay long.

I'm sure it will take a long time for missing Charlie to ease a bit. Your Scrabble group sounds fun!

  16. Awww... I LIKE your new hairdo. I really, really do!!!

Peep #1 was talkin' about Rushton havin' to get a lion cut this this year. He has some matts and won't let the peep comb 'em out. Last year, Andy had to get the lion cut done. MOUSES!

  17. Never easy when we lose our furbabies. You are right, hair does grow, but your haircut looks just fine. I know what you mean though about thinking you are looking at someone else. Happened to me when I lost weight. And happened to a friend when she had jaw surgery. She really went through an identity crisis because the change was so drastic. Haven't played Scrabble in years. But I do play games every week with kids in the pediatric ward where I volunteer on Thursday mornings. Have a peaceful Sunday!

  18. I agree that hairdressers must use special measurements because I too told my hairdressers to cut off about 5cm but it looked more like 10 when he was done. Oh well, it will grow with time.

  19. Hello, hello It's sweaty Betty here from Thailand rushing in at the last minute, given it's now Monday! I hope you are feeling a little more full of energy, perhaps another holiday is calling? I am sorry to hear about the various pets death, I know they may only be little, but they make such a huge hole in our lives when they are no longer with us.
I love your hair by the way, it suits you. I hope you are getting used to it!.
Bye for now - I will someday get around to launching that Wordpress Blog of mine, so you can comment, but for now no time!
I love the way I'm showing up on your live traffic feed, I wonder how many other visitors you have from Bangkok?

  20. I do like your new haircut, but I agree that hairdressers have their own ideas about length.
Scrabble has always been a favorite game at our house--have you heard of Bananagrams? Basically a type of Scrabble.
