FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.

1.

While doing our acqua gym we all noticed that this year the trees are still very green and it doesn't look like autumn at all. We have a beautiful view out of the windows of the swimming pool and we can all follow the seasons.

Nevertheless the garden had to be prepared for winter and we had all bushes and the hedge trimmed by our young moroccan gardener. He is really a very brave guy. Can you imagine that he can't read and write and goes to morning school now to learn it. He must be around 35 !

2. As usual after exactly 6 weeks I needed to go to the hairdresser to have my hair cut. I looked like a witch without broom. Now it's better.

Finally I also decorated my "season" basket at the entrance for autumn

3. I went with Dominique to the cinema and we saw "Johnny English Reborn" with Rowan Atkinson.

It was a parody of the James Bond films. We laughed the whole film long !

4. A girlfriend which we hadn't seen a long time before we were invited to her mother last week, visited us and we had tea together. I had worked with her Indian husband for 10 years and we were both pregnant at the same time. Her son is 4 days younger than ours.  We talked about India and the social changements starting there slowly, slowly. There still is a huge gap between very poor and very rich !

5.

This weekend we will have our yearly exposition, so we were all very busy by choosing the paintings and hang them up. Of course there also was a lot of chatting and we had a lot of fun. There are some final touches to be made and it will be ready.

  1. Hi Gattina, where we live in SA we also have distinct seasons and I also watched the changes through the spinnning class window. Now I live in EA and even the birds don't seem to leave for "winter" which is approaching. Our trees are still very green and some have even started to flower! Good on your Moroccan garden who is eager to learn to read and write. I always love your seasonal door decoration. Have a wonderful weekend at the Expo. Hugs, Jo

  3. I know what you mean about the Autumn change of colors. We have our Autumn in Winter if that makes sense....the trees don't change color until about Mid-December around my part of the world.

Ohhhhhhhhh, Ms. G. What paintings are you choosing for your exhibit?

Thanks for stopping by to visit.

My post today is: Friday's Fragments

  4. I can't stand Mr Bean, so I don't think I will like Johnny English.

But I like that flower hedge of your first photo. Congrats to the gardener.

  5. We have 4 very distinct seasons, as you know. Today, we have sun and dark swirling clouds! And it is cold, very cold.

  6. Your view is beautiful. How wonderful that your gardener is learning to read and write!

I have to get my hair cut every 6 weeks too or I look like a shaggy dog. We do what we have to. :-)

  7. Oh my goodness...I laughed so hard while viewing the Johnny English film trailer that my husband came up from downstairs to find out what was the matter. I'll definitely have to go see this film when it arrives here. By the way, your gardens/lawn looks fantastic. Enjoy your "Indian Summer" while you can before the cold weather arrives.

  8. It's the opposite here - the leaves seem to be turning pretty early.

I'm overdue for a haircut. It feels so good to get it done.

The trailer for that film looks hilarious.

My daughter-in-law is from India. It's definitely a different culture.

  9. I can't believe how those flowers are still blooming.

The film looks hilarious. I think I'll have to make a point of seeing that one.

Looks like the exhibition is coming together very nicely. I'm sure you're all really excited and can't wait for the actual date.

  11. My apartment is small and so there is not much room for storing seasonal decorations. I love the idea of your "Season" basket. That is something that I can also do. :)

Hope your exhibition went well. What a fun thing for you all to do.
