AUTUMN COLORS ??
more participants at Jenny Matlock's Alphabet Thursday
In my part of the world which means Belgium, the trees are on strike and still very green. There are no autumn colors to see,
not even in the Ardennes, where it's usually colder than anywhere else and the woods are still green and not a single yellow or red leave in sight and these pictures were taken on Sunday !
Even when I look out of the window, everything is still green. And honnestly for me it could stay that way the whole year long. I don't like autumn and winter at all ! I think I am born on the wrong side of the world.

Besides the Boutiques nobody does autumn decorations either. I was the only one amongst my friends and even in the streets you don't see anything. Halloween is not a big thing either it just moves in slowly, slowly a little more each year. In some big stores you find Halloween decoration now, which didn't exist 5 or 6 years ago. I learned all about that on American blogs.

Halloween is a blast for kids here in Canada and the US. Kids have parties at school and parents pretend to be witches opening doors to give out treats. I had so much fun with the kids when they were growing up. Now I live on a street which is very quiet. So I don;t do anything for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWe're not big on Hallowe'en here either, though it's creeping in more each year.
ReplyDeleteThe horse chestnut trees at the top of my road started turning red back in August! Everything else has taken it's time though and I had to search quite hard to find colourful pictures.
How nice for you to have all that greenery!

Weather sure is unpredictable these days. We have green all year round. You would like it here. We don't decorate or celebrate Halloween but like Belgium stores are getting in the act and kids are copying the American Tv.
ReplyDeleteHi again!
ReplyDeleteHalloween isn't celebrated much here in Spain either. Great ‘Autumn’ post!
Have a great weekend & look forward to *seeing* you again next time,
Alphabe-Thursday
We've already had snow here in Romania! I'd settle for a few more weeks of fall color, but I'd really love some of your green.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a lot of green here in South Carolina.
ReplyDeleteI found myself nodding all the time. Yes, in Germany we also don't have many colored leaves yet. Yes, Halloween isn't big here either.
ReplyDeleteWaving to my neighbor,
Birgit
Our colors have not been so bright this year either. But then, we have not had our first frost yet, either.
ReplyDeleteLots of green still here in the south too. I love the trees are on strike. I'm with you on disliking winter, but I really enjoy fall.
ReplyDeleteI love the changing seasons a lot. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Halloween isn't a big affair for us, personally. I do enjoy the candy, though. lol

You always find wonderful decorations and cool stores to shop!
ReplyDeleteI confess I have nothing for Halloween decoration, and I would think about something "cute", as I like the tradition and all decoration.I guess it's about in Brazil we don't have this tradition of Halloween. :(

Our leaves haven't changed yet, either. So I just wrote a poem and used some vintage photos.
ReplyDeleteStill enjoyed your pics!
=)
Oh yes, the same story here as well, but very telling that fall or autumn is in the air are the very telling leaves on the ground! Great photos of your autumn!
ReplyDeletepatience patience. fall will come..with or without red and gold leaves! ;) Nice post.
ReplyDeleteHmm if it's still so warm in Belgium then I can forget that we're going to have cooler temperatures any time soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's still in the 90's here in Tucson! I'd certainly welcome some cooling temps!!
ReplyDeletehi Gattina,
ReplyDeletesuch wonderful greenery reflecting the autumn colours so beautifully!

betty
That made me laugh that your trees are on strike! We are just getting some real nice color here!
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been a bit strange, so we have much more green than is normal for this time of year. trees on strike!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is fun with creative costumes and of course candy for the kids. But I will say that all the holidays are becoming more and more commercial.
I'm not much into Halloween this year but the stores start with the decorations now the first part of September! And of course, Christmas is here now too...blah!
ReplyDeleteI love your green:)
It sounds like everyone's Autumn color is a bit off this year!
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of Halloween as being a US holiday before. It's interesting how this global meme makes me realize how large the world really is.
Thanks for a wonderful link to Fall Break!
