Sarcastic Mom Weekly winnersLast week I published pictures of the
African Museum in Brussels from outside.
There were wooden elephants exposed in the parc
And here is what I saw inside
Wild stuffed animals. The museum is very old and in the beginning of 1900 there were no tourists in Africa to see them alive.
A ceremony costume
Jewelry
work tools
and statues.
Of course there was a lot more.
The elephant statue is so cool! I love visiting museums. This one looks very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThose wooden elephants are too cool!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tara-- the wooden elephants are awesome. Thanks for sharing your visit!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to have an exotic travel experience in your own home area. I have to admit the elephants do take the prize however...they are so cool, and I love elephants in general.
ReplyDeleteVery cool exhibits. Love those elephants.
ReplyDeleteThe elephant and costume are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteLove the elephants too! And african art in general. I have an elephant sculpture at home I had received by my grand father. Quand je pense que ses défenses sont en ivoire!!! Heureusement les éléphants sont un peu plus protégés maintenant.
ReplyDeleteI must have been a kid last time I visited the museum!! Those elephants look like the ones who were on exhibition in Antwerp two years ago!
ReplyDeleteAmazing stuff!
ReplyDeleteHi Gattina, I am back here and as usual, I enjoyed reading your post, and I am awed with the photos. :)
ReplyDeleteI want one of those elephants in my yard.
ReplyDeleteThe wooden sculptures of the elephants must have been cool to see in person!
ReplyDeleteI love the wood in the elephant. It has the right touch.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go on an African safari... *sigh*
