THURSDAY THIRTEEN - Friendship
more participants here at New Thursday 13
My best friend for 31 years who is only 66, exactly 9 month older than I, lies in hospital with colon cancer. There is no hope anymore, chimeo didn't help, now it's only a matter of time when she will leave us.
This night I thought about friendship and how much I will miss her.
1. A friend knows the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails.
2. Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there
3. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves
4. A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.
5. Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief.
6. Friends are God's ways of apologizing for our families.
7. A friend is someone with whom you dare to be yourself.
8. A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway.
9. It’s the friend you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.
10. Friendship is a strong and habitual inclination in two persons to promote the good and happiness of one another.
11. A Brother may not be a Friend, but a Friend will always be a Brother
12. True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable
13. A friend never comes too late to help.
I have to get used that she will not be there anymore.

I am so sorry about your dear friend, Gattina. She will always be in your memories and they will make you smile when she's gone.
ReplyDeleteA friend for such a long time is a wonderful thing. A blessing and a joy. When the sadness has waned the good memories will stay with you always.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to read about your friend. Those are all very good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts in a tough time.
ReplyDeleteI'm up at both Thornesworld
and The Eclectic Witch.
I hope you'll stop by!
I'm saddened by your losing a good friend to cancer. It's so hard to accept sometimes and yet, when it's all over and done and the friend is gone from this earth.....be consoled that the memory will always be there!!!!
ReplyDeleteGiant, comforting hugs to you Gattina.
I'm so sorry about your friend. Perhaps someday we'll find a cure for cancer so no one has to endure such a thing. It's nice that you have been blessed with such a good friend, and I'm sure you'll be a good friend for her now.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I've been best friends for over 30 years today. I can't imagine how you must be feeling (((warm hugs)))
ReplyDeletei'm v sorry about that, Gattina :-<...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your friend. I too have a good friend who has cancer and won't likely be around much longer. It is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thoughts, thank you for sharing. I am sorry that you had to write the list under such circumstances.
ReplyDeleteOh Gattina. I'm so sorry about your friend - what an awful way to go. I'm glad she's in the hospital. I pray that she finds peace.
ReplyDeleteAnd you do as well.
((hug))
So sorry to hear about your friend. Your 13 is a lovely tribute to friendship.
ReplyDeleteSuch sad news! Ouch, that hurts. I've seen it up close, my former MIL. It was terrible, because she suffered for so long time before she finally went. Sometimes I feel that we keep humans alive too long, in a way we never would let our pets suffer.
ReplyDelete66. It's not fair. She should have so many years left. *deep sigh*
It will be empty without her for you, but you have lots of wonderful memories to lean on.
Yikes, sometimes I really don't like what life has to offer us...
I'm very sorry about your friend. I hope she won't have to suffer much.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you and your friend.
ReplyDeleteThe loss of a friend is often harder to take than the loss of a relative.
