AWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND SEPTEMBER 28

purr purrrrr

Linking to AWWW MONDAYS

WEEKEND

Saturday morning when I opened the shutters I wanted to close them again immediately and hide myself under the blanket ! The sky was dark, wind was blowing and it rained ! It was exactly what I call a "graveyard weather" ! So cheerful ! I wanted to stay in bed, but on the other hand I had to get up, there were things to do ! I wrote my cat blog post, and then I looked for a TV furniture on Internet, because in all stores I have been, I didn't like any. Then I talked half an hour with my friend Nicole, and some other people and suddenly it was noon and the morning was over.

Sometimes I was interrupted by always hungry cat Arthur and as a well trained servant I filled in his bowl. He is so old that he earns to be spoilt !

Mr. G. had his formula 1 and was in Russia, sitting on the sofa stuck on the screen. We had to be silent like in a church. Fortunately the cats slept, I was excluded and went for some shopping, but changed my mind because of the wind and rain and went to Myriam and together we checked if we had everything for our exhibition next weekend.  Nothing was missing even a beautiful turquoise table cloth with fitting champagne glasses (plastic, Greta will send her to hell) and napkins, chips, and other salty stuff and a few biscuits. We had sent out most of the invitations on Facebook and she had been to several hairdressers to leave our flyers.

To my surprise I found my pouring painting on Pinterest. I don't know how it arrived there ! I discovered that I am a member but don't remember when I subscribed ! Must be at least 10 years ago ! I don't even know how it works and for what it is.  But it was nice to see. And then the Saturday was over !

Sunday it was even worse ! A storm blow the rain fell in buckets from heaven it was really awful ! A weather to stay home and don't look out of the window !

Mr. G was the only one who was happy, he was again in Russia for his Formula one. The rest of the family which means two cats and myself where banned from the TV. I watched paint pouring techniques on YouTube and prepared my post for "Our World" on Tuesday. One post more and I have done my whole tour around the Eastern countries ! There is still Vienna left.

Fortunately we had our Facebook meeting from our group "Vivre à Waterloo" (Living in Waterloo) this time in a very fancy Mexican restaurant ! This was the outside, it must be nice to sit here in summer !

Inside too it was really fancy, we had tapas and a singer sang Mexican songs. I was there with Nicole (above) and 2 others and the girl on the picture was one of the group. We had a lot of fun and some also were dancing. It's so nice to meet people life and not always hidden behind a picture on Facebook ! It was a real cheerful evening and it was decided that we will come back !

Now it's dark of course when I drove home, the days are getting shorter and shorter at 9 pm it's already dark ! In a few weeks it will be at 5 pm !

OUR WORLD - FABULOUS RESTO DECORATION

Last week I have been to a Mexican Restaurant in Waterloo. I was not so impressed by the so said Mexican food, but rather by the restaurants decoration ! I had never seen such a special and very creative one in a restaurant.

At the entrance, looking inside I was surprised  by the huge wheels hanging from the ceiling

enormous turbines and other machinery

The wooden table gave a warm feeling to this rather industrial decoration !

Unfortunately the waiter didn't know for what these engines were used, so we could only guess. This was probably used for grape pressing

others for beer

I think the only really "Mexican" things were this

another engine was used for the bar

a huge fortune wheel stand opposite

the bar

and a "all you can eat" buffet for 11 € (14.50 $). For those who really know Mexican food it looked rather like a mixture between Belgian and Mexican food and it wasn't spicy at all, but it was not bad at all.

If we would have eaten "à la carte" there was real Mexican food but also more expensive and for just a lunch it was OK.

other impressive engines or machinery

and the restroom was all green with football (soccer) team posters at the wall.

Next time we will go there, then  not anymore for the decoration but in the evening to have nice Mexican specialities.

FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.

1. We had another teacher at Acqua Gym, because the usual one had hurt her back and had to stay in bed. This one is far to energic and quick and we old ladies couldn't follow, so I told her just to imagine she was 20 years older and if she would then still hop around. That calmed her down and she said we should go all to the rythm we feel, which of course we did. It ws again an awful rainy weather in the afternoon and besides my blogging work I also did some household scores.

2. Yoga was very funny, first we did eye exercises,  where I only regretted that I didn't know that when I was a student to copy discretely on my classmate without the teachers noticing. Then we had to throw our arms into the air and then vigorously let them fall between our legs with a loud scream ! I did my best to scream, but then I couldn't hold back my laughter when I heard and saw the others. Fortunately I wasn't the only one, because two others also got a laughing fit. Excellent exercise when you see the world in black !

3.

For once Mr. G. and I went out together, because his friend had invited us to the inauguration of his new own hair salon in the Wellington Gallery which was very beautiful. There were quiet a lot of people in the Gallery, whom I didn't know but Mr. G. yes, so I got the impression to walk a dog who stopped all five minutes at a tree. Only in this case the trees were replaced by people.

4.

With my friends Nicole and Dominique we went to a Mexican Restaurant which had an extraordinary decoration with all old machineries. Unfortunately we only recognized a wine press, a wheel of fortune, a machine to make beer etc. We asked the owner to make a list of the decoration items ! It was really interesting.

It also was quiet cheap because at lunch time they served a "all you can eat" buffet for 11 € only (14.50$)

After the restaurant we had coffee and apple cake at Nicole's

Enviously observed by Charly after he had swallowed the bones of the spareribs which we had brought him.

5.

After our painting course where  Charly was our art critic, I finally bought the barrier for Mr. G's bed and I hope that he doesn't jump over it when he dreams he jumps over walls or fences in his dreams.
