SUNDAY SELECTIONS

The Brussels Canal was once an industrial link between the factories south of the city and the Port of Antwerp to the north. The district, which was long neglected, is now enjoying a new lease of life thanks to a mix of social classes, a young population, once disused sites that have been given a makeover and trendy bistros. This district is bursting with creativity, from digital arts to theatres and exhibitions. Truly invigorating!

Now it becomes almost a posh place with sailing boats and canal cruises. When we tried the Canal cruise for the first time it had just started to change !

The frirst picture shows where you can take the cruise which is very amusing and then where the cars are demolished, and other industrial sites. That changes a bit  from sophisticated cruises that show historical sites or beautiful landscapes !

  1. I think you should take the canal cruise again to see what is new.

  2. Thank you for joining us again. I would love to see that - all of it, including the not very posh bits.

  3. Yes, it sure does make one blink to see all that demolition...but I think it must be quite attractive now.

  4. I'm not sure where our closes canal would be.
Coffee is on and stay safe.

  5. I think every city has an area that is functional and not attractive, often close to waterways.
