LIEGE STATION BELGIUM

This has been the Station of Liège for years

The new station, by the architect Santiago Calatrava, was officially opened on 18 September 2009. The good man, a Spanish probably thought that we have the same warm and sunny weather then in  the South of Spain.

That's why you have to hide yourself behind a wall because to keep the station nice and cool, there is a terrible draft blowing through the whole building. That's nice in Summer but less in Winter.

Nobody of the Belgian population (except probabably the once of Liège) has understood why such ultra modern huge Station which has cost millions of Euros was built in Liège and not in the capital Brussels, Not many international people go to Liege, there is nothing extraordinary to see ..... except this unusual station !

  1. I love the design but what a pity it is not well used.

  2. It looks very grand but the first thing about stations is that function well for those who use them and this one sounds like it doesn't.

  4. It is a cool looking station! It would be worth going to Liege just to see it!> What is it about developers...they brought the desgner for the University Campus in Calgary up from California in the summer. He had NO IDEA about cold winters! And getting from building to building you could freeZe all your extremities! We hope you have a marvellously happy day!
