********
HODGEPODGE

1. Have you ever spent time on a farm? Tell us a little bit about it. Have you ever grown your own pumpkin? Been on a hayride? Driven a tractor? Milked a cow?

When I was a child I lived with my grandparents on the countryside. Of course I have spent a lot of time on farms because my friends were all farmer's children. I sat on a what's called a tractor today but was pulled by horses, hayrides didn't exist at that time, but I tried to milk a cow forgot to fix her tail and got the tail with full swing in my face. Ever since I prefer to buy milk !

2. What's something younger you would like about you now?
More hair, as I had before

3. What are three things you'd like to do more often? Three things you'd like to do less often?
As I can do what and when I want, I do things more often when I want. Things I don't like to do often I leave and wait until somebody else has done it for me.

4. What's on your nachos?
First I thought it was an Indian tribe and wondered about the question, then I googled and found out that it is something to eat. I only know Tachos and no Nachos so I have no idea what to put on them.

5. What's the most random thing in your purse or wallet? Does it need to stay there?
I have nothing "random" in my purse or wallet, it's already full enough.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Looking out of the window I think I have to call the gardner to cut the hedge.

  2. It is interesting that the guards need armed guards. What a world we live in.

I think nachos are a typical American treat. For many they are like tacos that are laying on a plate, you eat a little at a time. It is really sort of like having a variety of dips all side by side that you mix and match on. We use things like refried beans (mashed pinto or other beans mixed with lard or other things), cheese, sour cream, lettuce, whatever a person chooses. We can buy them just about anywhere, malls, sporting events, bowling allies, skating rinks, movie theaters, you name it. Have a blessed day.

  3. The world certainly is in more turmoil than normal lately it seems. What a thing we need guards for the guards, but I'm glad they're being cautious. Tourist attractions I'm sure are a target for trouble. Take care.

  4. Those guards have to be guarded as well in these days... what is the world coming too I wonder

The cats are not aware of worlds troubles, thankfully

  7. Enjoyed your Wednesday Hodgepodge thoughts, Nachos are favorites at sporting events here in the States, that is when I indulge.
    Great photos!

  8. Those first photos are dramatic as well as heartbreaking. Don't forget to call the gardener!

  9. I marvel at the machine-gunned guards guarding the royal guards! I visited my granddad's farm when I was a child: hated the long-drop toilets, the brackish water and the fact that there was no electric lights at night in their spooky house. Recently I lived on a farmm and enjoyed the animals but enjoy my beautiful art shop and interacting with customers much more. I love seeing Arthur, Rosie and Kim again. Have a great day. Jo

  10. That's a heavy guard for the Royal guards. Sad that such sceneries are becoming more normal.
How lovely you got to spend lot of time on a farm! Milking cow is something I've never had chance to do. If I ever do, I have to remember about the tail fix :-)

  14. Hello Gattina, I enjoyed your answers to the Hodgepodge and your photos from London, too. Arthur is keeping a close eye on those monsters. LOL.
Hope you have a good weekend.

  17. Hi Gattina -
Like all of the other commenters here, I find it amazing, and a little sad, that the guards need guards. It will not be too far into the future that we will see guards with high powered rifles walking around the US.

My favorite 'nachos' are Doritos. I could honestly eat a whole bag at one sitting! I know...very 'American'...lol.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you are recouperating ok.

  20. My son came home with 2 pumpkin seeds from church. We grew them. I don't eat pumpkins, I took it to school and taught the story of cinderella.

  21. I always love seeing pictures of your black cat. Somehow I don't imagine officers with large guns at the Palace, but I guess it is a sign of the times. - Margy
