So I was quite surprised when I opened the shutters and looked out of the window !
My street was white !
and also the garden !
The cat statue wore a coat
But then the temperature dropped and it rained
The snow melted
The streets looked ugly and when it froze during the night they were slippery in the morning;
I felt locked in like in Alcatraz ! Each day the same view, sometimes white, sometimes striped, sometimes with only a little snow ! Very"amusing"
The only one who thought he would enjoy the snow was cat Arthur, until he realized that snow was cold !
Therefore he did what I wish I could do the whole day with this weather, he slept on my warm bed !

Hi Gattina - we've got a bit of your weather cold front here ... but it's misty and the sun is trying to break through. The slush is horrid, while the ice is dangerous ... a snowy time! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWe have had snow and cold weather for all of three days and today there is rain. Which will probably mean everything will be very slippery!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the snow. It usually looks quite pretty, but once it starts melting, everything starts to look ugly and drab again.
I think Arthur has the right idea. I tried to do that today, but didn't manage it. Love his pink nose by the way.
Better inside and bored, but warm than outside wet and freezing. Summer will return Gattina.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the snow we get here where I live in the southern US. It does not snow every winter, but when it does everything stops. We do not get snow enough to know how to cope with it. Time for a cup of hot chocolate to drink and a good book to read!
ReplyDeleteHorrible time of year when there is ice around. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of whiteness. I thought the first cat was Arthur. And then to my surprise, there he was in the snow - Mr Intrepid! Glad he realized that there was a warm bed for him indoors. Your first photo of the net curtains overlooking the snowy street, is very artistic. Wrap up warmly and wait for the meltdown...
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely in the snow!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your blog posts, mostly because of your sense of humour which, I see, was dampened but not erased by the snow. I spent most of my life on the Pacific coast in southwestern British Columbia. Vancouver residents (especially those with cars) aren't really used to snow, either. Every year, they are surprised when it falls, and they're unprepared for slippery roads.
ReplyDeleteOne year, when I was commuting from my hometown near the US border, almost an hour from home to my job, I decided to be prepared. I bought not two, but four studded snow tires, so I would be ready for the snow. And there was none. That whole winter there was no snow, and there I was, driving to Vancouver with studded tires. I found out they are very, very noisy on dry pavement.
Since I moved to the prairie, I've often talked about taking lessons in winter driving, but I've never done it.
So now I haven't been out, other than to call Lindy, for several weeks now, so I can sure understand Arthur!
However, the snow is melting here, and the forecast calls for continuing warmer weather. I might be able to go somewhere after all.
Meanwhile, I hope you and your family are well.
K
So pretty until it melts.
ReplyDeleteArthur, how brave are you going out there in such cold.

I love seeing your photos of winter. Here in southern California we have sun and mid 60's. It's the calm before the storm as we're expecting a big rain storm to arrive. Arthur is adorable! Pat
ReplyDeleteHi Gattina!
ReplyDeleteI have not blogged in a long time, or visited others. Stopping by to say hello and wish you the best for 2017.
You have more snow there than we do over here in Canada! Beautiful pics and nice to see Arthur enjoying the snow :)
Arthur is so cute in the snow! But yes, warm bed would be a much better choice :-)
ReplyDeleteIt always looks so beautiful when it first snows. Just a pity it becomes icy or slushy before very long.
ReplyDeleteSpending the day in bed on a snowy day sounds like a good idea to me!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need to stay in Egypt all winter -- or at least a little longer. Be a snowbird like us (ssnowbird means here retired people who 'fly' away to the warmer parts of the country for the winter so they don't have to deal with snow).
