Since 1993 Brussels has decided to paint walls in homage to cartoon heroes. A comic strip runs from one wall fresco to another in the city. An opportunity to discover these cartoonists and their characters.
You can get a map with the streets and the names of the artists. I didn't make the whole tour, I just took pictures when I saw a wall painting.
I used to live near Woluwé St Pierre(?) underground station and that was beautifully decorate with the characters from Tintin (or Kuifje in Dutch) I believe. Never took a photo though...
This is something we did not see when we lived in Germany. We were so close to Brussels that I think we forgot to visit it. I enjoyed you post I love street art.
Oh, I'm glad I took another look at the Our World posts, and found you taking photos of wonderful wall paintings. How interesting that Brussels is featuring these paintings instead of making wall-art illegal. I'm a little late in commenting, so I hope you come back and find me. Hugs from here, and hi from the big guy. All the best to you and yours, K
I think Tin Tin features a lot, or is that a separate tour.

ReplyDeleteWhen the mural is well done it adds something extra to the street. some great ones here. I would have to follow the map and see what else is around.
