It is a very huge Abbey and the ruins have been restored.
We didn't go inside because we had been there already so often
The entrance also had changed and after having asked 3 times, it was finally too late
But even from outside it looks very pretty.
There had been a celebration and people had some refreshments (mostly the good Belgian beer) under the tents. On the terrace of the old café a lot of people were sitting and enjoyed the last warm sunny days.

The abbey is a great ruin and look how blue the sky is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to visit, a beautiful ruin and good that you managed to catch some sun too.
ReplyDeleteThe Abbey does look beautiful especially with the green ivy climbing over the walls. We have had some wonderful weather lately. I hope it continues.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteStunning Abbey, I can't help thinking about the workers who built it. Hope they were well paid and wish they could come back and see their great work still standing or most of it. Think of the tales they could tell.
ReplyDeletephotos are nice even from outside.
ReplyDeleteI was fascinated when in Europe that when there is good sunny weather, everybody comes out "to play" You always see many bikers and people in open sports cars. Great ruins and interesting post. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteInteresting shots of the ruins.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful place! I love the view of green all over the wall.
