STONEMANOR - A BRITISH STORE
Today I take you to a very special place, where for a couple of hours you can think you are in the UK !
Between Brussels Airport and Waterloo, right in the middle there is a huge manor called Stonemanor which has been transformed into a 3 floor department store. There is also a smaller branch of Stonemanor in Waterloo, as we have a lot of British citizen who live here. Stonemanor has probably the most important range of British food and drinks outside of the U.K.
The entrance is always nicely decorated and sometimes a guard in a colorful costume is standing here.
If you go there you would never believe to stand in front of a huge store, but rather see a romantic manor.
Here you will find all the well known brands which are shipped twice a week each week from the UK. They have about18 thousand products and even their own bakery. British people can find here their favorite food and even order things from Argos. There is also a large choice of books, and some furniture.
Just opposite the Manor is a beautiful old farm, still in use and you can combine your shopping with a nice walk through the countryside.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful place. Greetings
ReplyDeleteyou got a phone booth from England.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had one of them here. it looks a great place to visit as well as for shopping.
ReplyDeleteI would not mind shopping here at all!
ReplyDeleteThat 's the place i have been looking for to do my shopping!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Thanks also for your comment on IWD. I agree with you that boys and girls have to do the same chores. My daughter asks the boys and her daughter to help her doing the chores equally divided among them.
Her partner often does the cooking and shopping, and all of them find their own clothes in the heap of clean laundry.
When I am there I hang the laundry outside and lateron I take the dry clothes in. The family does the rest.
What a wonderful spot to spend the day! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThar's fascinating!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place!! I would love to spend a day there! Your captures are terrific, Gattina, and definitely the next best thing to being there -- saves me money, too!! Hope your week is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place to shop! I'd love that.
ReplyDeleteA thoroughly delightful post, Gattina. I'm not particularly interested in British food (well, maybe shortbread, etc.) but I'd love to see this place and the farm across the way.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine visiting my best friend in England, taking the train through the Channel Tunnel to Brussels, and visiting with you as we wander through the manor!
Maybe some day.

ReplyDeleteThat is different indeed! & very elegant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a completely different looking store.
ReplyDeleteLove that red phone booth. For a moment, I thought you were in England.
ReplyDeleteI would love to shop there. I wonder if the phone in the phone box works. And the large dog guarding the entrance should really be a Corgi.
