OUR WORLD - SUNRISE HOLIDAY RESORT

My world in our world is in Egypt for the moment. I am on holidays in Hurghada at the Red Sea.
As we are so lazy we haven't been in the city yet, instead we spent the whole day on the beach in the warm sunshine.

Therefore the pictures below show my world this week

separating the other part of the sea, which looks like a pond and is ideal for people who can't swim or who are afraid to swim in the big ocean.

STRAWBERRIES AND MELONS A FRUIT FESTIVAL

Each week a fruit festival took place in our hotel in Egypt. As we stayed two weeks we were lucky to attend two fruit festivals one with strawberries and one week later with melons.

It started by a procession with cooks carrying the enormous tray with the strawberries on, followed by Egyptian musicians

It was very cheerful !

Then the tray was put on a huge table

and people were running to see the event listen to the music and then picked up the strawberry cakes, salads and skewers

I had never seen such a lot of strawberries in my whole life !

Everything was eaten up in no time and the strawberries were delicious, so juicy (but not with water) and tasted the sunshine and real strawberries, not what I find here in our supermarkets !

The following week was the turn of melons. I could watch the preparations from my beachbed

A table with different colored cocktails all with melon juice was dressed and then the tray arrived the same way as the strawberries.

It really looked very beautiful and the melons were so tasty !! again no comparison to those who are sold labelled "organic" I think only the price is organic, same with the strawberries.

The leader of our animation team had a lot of fun with the musicians and danced, and again everything disappeared very quickly !

and for those who were a little late, there was nothing left !

This is my last week at the Red Sea in Egypt , the two weeks went by so quickly and Wednesday we return home into the cold ! It will be a big difference from + 28°C to - 1°C !

But meanwhile we enjoy the holidays. Mornings beach, then lunch, then beach then supper and in the evening we are on our tablets or smartphones and chat with other people.

Nicole had her two grandchildren painted and I think it came out very well !

Then we had a strawberry festival, with an orchestra followed by cooks who carried an enormous tray with all kind of things made from strawberries !

Nicole tries the strawberry cake (in the back) it was so good ! Not like our very expensive watery strawberries ! Here at least they had the real taste of strawberries ! Sunshine for them is more then enough !

We were also invited to the VIP party given by the hotel manager for guests who came more than 5 times. It was very nice to see so many faces and say hello to people I have seen since several years. Here we are sitting with a couple from the north of Scotland, I know them already since 3 years. They had also been there last year in November !

and when I came into my room I found this dog (or is it a pig ?) on my bed !!

HOLIDAY WEEK REVIEW - Egypt Red Sea

Since Tuesday I am on holidays at the Red Sea in Egypt, to escape the cold and grey "spring" weather and all the worries around me and the world !

Here it is the paradise the sun is shining the sky is blue it is very warm 30° or a little more, but with a little wind very nice !

It is the 9th time I am now in this hotel and I have never been here in May, always in November. It's amazing that there are no flowers and nothing is blooming, while end of the year it's a real flower show ! There are mostly English and Germans, very few French and a few Dutch. Everybody goes well together and as usual the atmosphere in this big hotel is rather homely.

When I arrived I was kissed and welcomed "home" by a few employees and in my room was a nice plate of fruits. New is also that there is now Internet everywhere even in the rooms.

I have no time to write, I am so busy with laying on the beach and watching people, or read my book, or I swim ! I am only interrupted for lunch !

In the evenings I am so tired from all this fresh air and swimming that I just watch a movie on the balcony of my room and then fall asleep ! I have to say that the animation team is not so much to my taste, but that's my personal opinion. Anyway I have seen these shows already so many times.

Breakfast at the swimming pool or inside ! For everybody even real English breakfast ! I love these croissants and a fruit salad. For the first time I also have little guests on my table, birds ! Never happens in November.
