FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

Monday was probably the last day we could play Scrabble outside ! And we were only three, Nicole was at the sea.  ! Two experts and me ! But oh miracle I was second and Mireille always first was the last !! I had bought a "fudge" cake and a "carrot" cake which they both loved.

As usual Arthur participated and waited for whipped cream !

I started to empty Mr. G's wardrobe ! He had lost so much weight that with shirts he looked like a clothes rack. They were all too large. Instead I had ordered some nice pullovers which suits him very well. After that I felt lazy and sorted out my new pictures and put them in files. Virtual of course, in my computer.

It went shopping and it started to rain. So I hurried up to get my stuff and went home.

My aqua  gym  class has started too, I hadn't seen my classmates for 2 months, two were missing but the others were all there, some of them apparently had eaten very well during the holidays because they looked rounder as before. As I still do my Yoga exercises when I get out of my bed, I wasn't rusty at all to the big surprise of our animator.

School had officially started and our painting class too ! There were quite a lot of changes. Our administrator after 30 years of faithful services handed over officially her work to Myriam and myself. We informed the responsibles of the retirement home where we use the big room.

We had decided to put a new and fresh wind in the old system and divided the class into 3 groups. The once who do their own painting and don't really need a teacher, a group with the teacher were they learn different techniques and then a table for the "piggies" who do the pouring so that we don't spit on the others with our colors ! All the new ideas were very well welcomed and we hope that we will get a few new members because two have left us forever during the school holidays.

Conferences, and new ideas !

And another week went by ! Too quick !

  1. You're a very busy lady! Well, when one is busy, time certainly flies. I can't say I'm happy with that.I want it to slow down a bit, so that I feel better I savour it.
Good for Mr.G to get some new clothes! We love to get new things at any age and phase of life.

  2. You and Myriam made some helpful changes to your art group. I hope you are able to find some new members soon.
How fun to come in second at Scrabble last week. The cakes you brought sounded decadent.
How lovely to get the wardrobe sorted and new pullovers bought. You deserved some “lazy” time after that.
    Have a great week, Gattina

  3. I enjoy Scrabble, and my wife and I play quite frequently. There is skill and knowledge involved of course, but if you get a whole string of bad letters, you can fall behind so quickly it is hard to catch up.

  4. Sounds like you and Myriam made good changes for the class!
It's great you do yoga. I'm sure you are in so much better shape than I am!

  5. I played scrabble while I was away and managed to win! I'm glad the summer holidays are over and things feel more normal. I hope Mr G is doing ok. I expect some clothes that fit will make him feel better.

  8. I love Scrabble, but no one here plays much. I love fudge cake but I like carrot cake a lot, too. I'm sure Mr. G. is glad to get some clothes that fit better. Sounds like some great new changes for your painting class--glad they were received well.

  9. I was sorry to see the end of the Summer holidays as I enjoyed spending time with my granddaughter. But like you I was happy to be back at my table tennis class again. You had some good ideas for your art class and your scrabble skills are going from strength to strength.

  10. I haven't played Scrabble for ages. It might be a good idea to bring it out now that we're heading towards winter. I hope Arthur got some cream.

  11. Lucky painting ladies to have two new leaders with good ideas. I bet your class will grow as the word gets out. September always seems like the start of a New Year as everything gets started again. A great time for a change!
