INTERNATIONAL CAT EXPOSITION

I think by now everybody knows that I love cats. So it is a real drama that my grandson is allergic to them ! It seems to be like a bad joke.

As there was an international cat exhibition near Brussels, Nicole and I went there, it was the ideal weather to visit an exhibition, because it was cold and rainy. I repeat myself all the time but unfortunately it is the truth !

When we arrived the jury was already in full action. There were several sections for kittens, and other cats, I don't know exactly how that works, I was only interested in the cats. I got the impression that they were all bored and made fun of us, laying in their luxurious cages and sometimes dared to open an eye or they groomed their fur.

Some cats were really enormous, very big and then some little once.

They were all very cute, except maybe the naked once but that's a matter of taste

This one had the perfect camouflage !

I liked the stripes and spots.

A very friendly cat, enjoying its treat

Perfect for knitting pullovers ! What a hairy cat !

Waiting to be classified

and one quite bored

There were a lot of English speaking people amongst the cat owners, but also from eastern countries, like  Poland.

It had been a nice afternoon to see all these cats. Of course to me my cats are the winners !

  1. I love cat shows and want to take them all home with me. Years ago I had a beautiful Burmese cat I took to shows and she became a Grand Champion. Shibella has a pedigree but is too nervous and bad tempered to take to a cat show. I hope Nicole finds a suitable cat to adopt. There are always older cats looking for a good home.

  2. What a wonderful variety of cats! I have a sister-in-law who would absolutely love going to a show like this.

  3. I can imagine you walking around this fair, you weren't tempted to take a cat with you? Sad your Grandson is allergic.
Hope you had a happy Easter.

  5. I can't image any cats enjoying this. I know all the cats I have ever had would have hated every moment but I guess if you start them young they like it

  9. Every time I visit your blog I miss my kitty. He adopted us when we lived in Pomona, California. He looked like a Norwegian Forest Cat. There used to be cat shows at the nearby fairgrounds so I always wondered if he escaped from there. Sometime before he came in through our kitty door (we had another cat at the time) a coyote bit off half of his tail. The vet shaved the rest of his tail and stitched him up. That's how he got his name, Sticktail. - Margy
