FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.

1. Since I am back from my holidays in England, it seems to me that all days are the same. Nothing happens and there is nothing special to do either because the weather is so bad.

2. I did the rest of the house cleaning, what an interesting subject ! Fortunately I had still a lot to do with my photos.

3. My painting class is closed for "school holidays" until mid September. I am angry because we are all retired and have nothing to do with school holidays. But part of my classmates are busy with their grandchildren as school is closed and the parents working. The other part is on holidays.

4. Acqua Gym is the same, our Monday group is cancelled and there is a course on Tuesdays with other people. Fortunately there is still Dominique who shares the same problem with me.

5. In fact it is like each year, during July and August the school holidays, Belgium is dead. Companies, and boutiques are closed for at least 3 weeks. The streets are empty, which is nice, but lots of houses too and the burglars have a happy time.

To resume my week I just did nothing special and nothing happened either not even Mr. G. falling out of his bed.

I think I will end up with doing the same !

  1. Oh Gattina, you should have made a detour from the UK to Kenya! So much beautiful weather and lots to do here! I can't believe you have burglars in Europe. Do you have security services which you can use? Hope you have a sunny weekend. Hugs Jo

  2. Same thing happens in January here, everything shuts down and I don't like it. There is always lunch and gossip with friends to keep me sane.

  4. Lots of things like classes follow a Sept. - June schedule around here but there is always summer courses happening and for a store to shut for that length of time is unheard of around here.

  6. A fall out of bed? Yikes.
Don’t know if you remember me but I used to read your blog. I am making some cool Tie Dye Cross-stitch Art and am trying to get the word out (I don’t have much traffic as of yet) You can check out my link to my Etsy Shop on my blog if your interested. Hope all is well and I enjoyed stopping in again.

  7. I can't imagine businesses closing for that long here. Although, it's not a bad idea, just to show us what we can live without! I sympathize with you on the summer doldrums, and I'm happy that school starts next week.

In the afternoon we went to the building and paint!!!

  11. Do you like to read? That keeps me sane when everything else is boring. Maybe you could paint something on your own while your class is off?

  13. Perhaps I'd enjoy it when everything is shut down. It would be so much quieter.
