FUN MONDAY - TURNING 80 !
Sayre
has the following assignment for us this week :
Using your imagination, project into the future and tell me what you will be like as an 80-year old. Will you be someone who doesn't accept the aging process, spending all your time in the
gym and the bars, or will you be a rocking chair granny, or something in between?
As I have only 14 years left to reach this age, I don't have to use a lot of imagination. Wrinkles are there and that's it. If I will not have any serious health troubles, I will just go on like I do now.
See :
Ageing is a philosophy of life. I would never use the sentence : "at my time" because my time is not yet over. I am still there and don't look at the roots of the flowers in my grave ! I only look back, for nice memories otherwise I prefer to look into the future and keep myself up to date. I never reject something new and even the new mobile generation which does laundry, dishwashing, ironing, emails, internet and TV that you can also use as a telephone seems very practical to me. That I use my old machines for that is a personal choice.
I will continue to travel through the world, I will take pictures and keep my blogs up, and even when I am sitting in a wheelchair I can still use my computer as my window to the world.
Laughing is the best remedy against wrinkles !
and so I would push my computer around, except I would have another hairdo. (The apple has nothing to do with the picture !)

Yes, I think this is so you!! You have a very positive outlook on things. Great post Gattina!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful post! You have such a bright outlook on life! And you are still VERY young! I think age is all in the mind. I intend to never grow up, just like Peter Pan!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!! Your whole philosophy on life and aging!! You GO girl!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy fun monday is posted....but, take note, there is an 'x' rated cartoon involved. But all in fun. In fact my whole 80'ish monday today, IS fun!!!
Though you are not nearly old enough to be my grandmother, you and she have similar philosphy with regard to aging. It has kept her active and interested to 90, so I'd say you're on the right track!
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE oops. you are about the same agish as my parents, and your wisdom is great. ihope that they continue to get around and do a lot of things, despite health issues in their lives.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yup! That's YOU! I am certain at 80 you will still be trekking through sandy soil and over mountains and swimming red, blue and purples seas! I hope by that time we have MET each other in person!
ReplyDeleteYou have the right outlook Gattina, and I'm sure you will be doing all those things and a lot more in 14 years time. Loved the photos.
ReplyDeleteHow inspiring! So very true and I am with you on blogging...with the onset of technology we can travel even if we have physical constraints.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
We are just about the same age. You are so right on about staying involved and being active. Age is a mind set. I still think I am 20,although when I look in the mirror it tells me different. Keep on doing what your doing, it sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteLaughing is the best way to live I agree. I don't feel old; I feel just as I always did inside.
ReplyDeleteYour great attitude seeps into all your blogging.
the 'this apple has nothing to do with the picture' statement made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you about embracing the future, even the technology. I'm still one of the first in line to try out the new 'toys'. Some of them I find aren't as good as the old way of doing things, but some of them have really helped. I think we stunt ourselves if we totally reject the future and stubbornly hold on to the past.
This is the best I've heard yet! You are so right - it is a philosophy. An active, positive outlook!
ReplyDeleteLaughing gives you funky wrinkles... "laughter-lines"...
ReplyDeleteMarrakesh looks very nice ;->...
I really think your way of life is perfect! The apple on the pic make me think "croquer la vie à pleine dents"! enjoy the life each moment and nothing else!
ReplyDeleteyup, i see you growing old more gracefully with each passing year :D
ReplyDeletethat cat on the picture looks so sweet, i feel so bad when i meet some like them on my holiday, I wish I could take them all home with me
Good for you. Life is to be lived to the fullest at every age.
ReplyDeleteYou rock!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an absolutely wonderful future! Enjoy and we'll keep lurking around enjoying it vicariously. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHow clever of you Gattina to share your life collage. You are so right about using technology as a window to the world. Retiring is not half so much fun unless you're connected to the rest of the world by technology. You've embraced the good stuff--learning, travel, creativity, good health. And, I've learned a new saying: "we're not looking at the roots of flowers on our grave". Yes to living in the moment!
ReplyDeleteI'm just a tad younger than you, Gattina, but I have the same philosophy. I'm not dead yet so I keep living as much as possible. Actually I don't mind being mid 60s, I'm having a great time and I have a great life. I'm at a place I want to be in my life and I intend to stay there for some time yet, doing what I want, when I want. Long live the seniors!!
ReplyDeletewow it seems that you had so much fun out there
ReplyDeletei just enjoyed your post
have a great day and happy blogging my friend
I want to be you when I grow up.
ReplyDeleteYep!
Gattina You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be 23. Now I am and so I will stay there, at that age, every day.
No point to get old when you can stay young.
Keep up the good work. :)
I love your post, you seem to be enjoying life.
