Near Waterloo is a big store which sells all kind of things. People put their antiques, furnitures or other stuff here for sale. When it isn't sold after 2 weeks the price goes down, if after 3 months it's still not sold (but I don't think that happens) they have to take it back. Of course the store owner gets a commission on the sales.

It's really a Ali Baba cavern and you can spend hours in there. I wasn't looking for something special, I just went there to take some pictures.

But then I saw this plate and of course I couldn't resist to buy it !

It is handpainted and a limited edition. It came from the UK and landed up in a junk store in Belgium. I payed 15 € (19 $) and am happy with it !

And then I found a little side table which I thought would be very useful for me to just put it besides the sofa so that I can put a glass or a plate on it.

The top is out of black glass, and the table itself of brass. It fits to all kind of furniture. I got it for 10 € !

That's always the same when you are in a shop with no intention to buy, you always come out with something !

I love going in places like that. You are so right about buying things when you least expect it. I do it all the time. Your cat plate is adorable. Happy Valentines day to you and your other half.

You got a couple of nice pieces at good prices.

I have an English relative who painted plates for a living.) My people come from the Potteries. She did a series of 12 Christmas Plates over 12 years which my aunt was able to purchase.

I had friends that started a consignment shop years ago but it never looked as nice as this one.

I think you shop well. My mother-in-law collected cat plates. I think Betty's sister has them or at least had them.
