WEEKEND  

We had a very nice weekend ! The sun was shining, it was warm and we did a Quiz sitting for the first time this year on the terrace, which was always too cold, because in the afternoon it is in the shade. But this time it was OK and we raked our brain to find the words.

The restaurant was already decorated for Easter and the decoration was really cute !

The young people were gone, and we missed them. It was so nice to mix the different generations ! 

On Sunday it was still very sunny but the temperature had dropped and it was impossible to sit outside.

I spent the whole morning to get my "YouTube" back, it is connected with a little box to my TV. First I thought when cleaning the room, the plugs were loose, but it wasn't the case. I squeezed myself behind the TV to read the brand of the box. With that I googled and what I got as answer .... the Google Chrome had been updated and things had changed. I only had to do a restart. I was very proud that I had found it all alone, I had asked my son but he couldn't help me. 

In the afternoon we played ping pong and laughed a lot, because we all hadn't played for years ! There were also some visitors and they played too. When it was my turn, I managed to hit Chantal right in the face with my ball! Luckily, ping pong balls aren't as hard as bowling balls, and she only laughed, so did the others. Anyway we had a lot of fun and that was the most important. 

Our visitors were also impressed that even the few in a wheelchair played too. 

One of the students came on Sunday, he had loved his stay with us so much that he came to play with us again. I found that really nice.

 I nearly forgot that it was Easter weekend ! My cleaning lady came and brought me a bag of goodies and cute things for Easter and that reminded me that it actually was Easter and I hadn't done any decoration, as I do each year.

In the bag was this, a card in polish and the cute little chicken. There was also an Easter bunny and a big bag of chocolate eggs which I later brought to Hospital for Mr.G.  together with my stuff, a Easter bunny and lots of chocolate eggs  in all sizes. So he had his Easter too. Unfortunately he still can't use Whatsapp, so we couldn't see each other.

 

All this inspired me to decorate a bit the living because for Easter Sunday I had invited Myriam and Nicole. We had decided to have an Easter meal together, as they were alone too. We ordered a Thai menu which was absolutely declicious !

Nicole's cousin the former baker had made "merveilleux" for her which she had brought along, I put some blueberries and whipped cream around and we had a delicious desert.

The Thai menu had been so much that we were really "filled up" and fell on the sofa. The rest of the afternoon we spent on "YouTube" learning how to paint abstract with Acrylic. 

Summer is gone and in some parts of Belgium it snows !!!

 

MY WEEKEND OF APRIL 19

I don't know how it happened, but suddenly I was member of Google+ ! I hate Google+ and the way they sneak into your profile. I always pay attention to not fall into the trap, but somehow I did, but apparently I am not the only one because I found help on a Forum and deleted this unwanted thing !



My Easter decoration was rather poor this year, as we were alone, but Mr. G. brought me this beautiful orchid and my cleaning lady gave me this Faber egg looking like egg, she had brought from Poland,  together with her Easter wishes.



Apparently I am very good in Easter egg hiding, because we found this nest a week later !



My son's father in law sent us this cute picture of grandson Toby for Easter.



In the afternoon together with Ilona we made a little walk through the park of an old convent, where artists also expose, we had a chat with one of them and then had a home made cheese cake and coffee.



On Easter Sunday I decided to go to the Wolvendael park near Waterloo, located in one of the municipalities of Brussels. The park is very big and I had never been there. At 3 pm the Easter egg hunting started for all kids, and there were a lot ! Families and grandparents were helping to look for the eggs, there was a playground and the kids had really a lot of fun.



I took some pictures of the little once who were very proud when they had found some eggs ! I thought of my little grandson he would have had a lot of fun with all of them. After all the eggs had been found (or not) they played on the games or football (soccer) with their daddies . I enjoyed the sunshine for a while and watched them before I returned home.

3 years ago we had the same egg hunting in Waterloo, but for I don't know what reason they don't do it anymore. The eggs were offered by the city as it was for this park. With all the taxes we pay I wonder where the money goes if there is not even a little left for some Easter eggs !

Last week I wanted to use my "Baby" computer, the netbook which I always use when I am travelling or when I sit in the garden. It was dead, no sign at all anymore. I took it to the shop to get it repaired, just to hear that the guarantee was only valid 1 year and I had it since 1 year 1 /2. To repair it was too expensive so they told me to buy a new one. That's what I finally did after a thorough market research. The best one for my purposes was the one below, an Eee Notebook from Asus. It has the size of a book and is not heavy at all, although the battery lasts for 12 h which really is a lot.



And here is my little jewel, of course Rosie has to pose, there is nothing to do, each time I take a picture of something she must sit in it !



I put up my easter decoration, not much this year, for an unknown reason I am not motivated at all. I just took out the basket from last year and put some real painted eggs in it.



and here too, Rosie had to play the Easter bunny but with short ears.

I needed some pebbles to decorate a vase when I saw that the easter decoration was already in the store ! As I really have enough of black and white winter colors I enjoyed the view of spring !

This year I didn't do much Easter decoration, because we are only the two of us. Maybe some friends will pop in but nothing special is foreseen. But I didn't want to be without any decoration especially it's one of my hobbies to decorate. So that's what I have done !

MANIC MONDAY - EGGS

Last year after Easter I put my Easter decoration in their baskets in a plastic bag for the next year just like that, because the eggs in the baskets were anyway of plastic.

When I opened the first bag this year, a strange odor came out of it, something rotten, in short it smelled awful. I wondered from what this odor came from and even at a closer look I couldn't see anything. I touched the first egg, it broke and even more stinky smell came out and then I realized that I had completely forgotten to take out the real eggs I had added to the baskets and after a year in a plastic bag they had become rotten eggs !

As I am not in possession of a gas mask I had to take all eggs out like this and separate the plastic eggs from the real eggs but I didn't faint !




Even Rosie wondered about this awful smell. The dark blue one is a real egg.



Finally all rotten eggs were taken out and after opening all windows the smell was gone too and we could enjoy our Easter decoration !

This year I didn't have very much work to decorate our living room for Easter. I had bought completely new things last year so I just had to put them up again. There only was one trouble, I had put the baskets away without realizing that there were still real eggs in ! You can imagine the smell which came out of the plastic bag when I opened it ! Now it doesn't smell anymore and here is my Easter decoration :
