FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE - FIVE ON FRIDAY

1. Summer moved in with sunshine and warm to hot weather. According to the weatherman it's too early but honestly I really don't mind ! The farmers complain and indeed everything is dry.

2. I finally finished our front yard, and "planted" flowers in the pots. I had to buy a few new once, but now it's all right.

Everybody who passes by admires my beautiful flowers, which are not real once but fake ! That's now very easy I don't have to water them, and I told Mr. G. not to do so, because he asked already if we don't have to water the plants. Now the garden work which I hate is finished until autumn !

3. I had to go with my 17 year old cat Kim to the vet, because she behaved so strangely.

No wonder she had a half loose rotten tooth and infected gums ! I left her there in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon, because she had to be anesthesized I thought now she would eat only soft food but no, she eats as normal her dry food !

4. For the moment I live in outside

The grass is dry which suits little Rosie and Arthur the kind cat waters it.

I blog or watch a little movie on the terrace and almost feel like being on holidays

In the rock garden it blooms despite the dry weather.

I have booked now my hotels in Dublin, for my trip around Ireland on the 30, I arrive 2 days earlier and leave one day later as the tour. It was very hard to find a Hotel the prices were impossible and the other once all fully booked. Finally I found one to stay at a decent normal price. But it took me quite long ! Now at least the papers are all ready, what a relief !

5. During our painting course we chatted more than we painted, I think it was the sunny weather which made us all so cheerful ! I forgot to take pictures for our Facebook page "Gibloux Couleurs" once again ! When we had finished some of us went to "La Pomme" (The Apple) which has very good salads. I had a Cesar salad.

Clouds are coming up and a thunderstorm is in the air !

  1. Poor Kim, but she can still eat so that is good. I am going to try fake flowers as I am tired of my flowers falling over the minute I forget to water them. A tour of Ireland sounds lovely, I have never been there but would love to visit.

  2. I love that flowering plant in your last photo. So cheerful!

We saw snow yesterday. Snow and ice! But it was so beautiful and the temperatures were quite nice (about 18 degrees out of the wind), that we didn't mind at all!

  3. Poor older cat! It's just as hard on them I think as it is us, to get older. Lovely yard plantings! I do hope you get some rain soon.

  4. We have friends who "plant" fake flowers on one side in front of their home. I'd forgot all about it until reading your post. I'll have to try and remember it if my attempt at putting a flower garden in the front of our house fails. Very cute cats!

  5. So glad to hear your cat was not affected by the dental treatment. The fake flowers are a delight. Have a great trip around Ireland, a very beautiful part of the world.

  6. Ooh what will you do in the Autumn? Dig them up I suppose and scatter a few leaves there. Fun idea. Have a great holiday.

  7. Sounds like a great week! How nice to have the garden all set for the summer. Poor Kim - glad she's feeling better now. Ireland! I am not much of a traveler, but that is one place I'd like to see.

  8. You've upgraded from a cardboard box to a little tent for your computer when you are outside.

  10. Your outdoor spot to blog and watch TV is quite a treat.
What a great idea to use artificial plants: No watering, weeding or faded blooms.
Love all the photos of your cats! They make me smile.
    Have a great weekend.

  12. Your fake flowers look very jolly. When the weather is warm and sunny I would just as soon be in my garden as on holiday. Hope you are enjoying the weekend. x

  13. How clever of you to fix a garden which will not require water. You can go off to Dublin and not worry even a little.

    Love all your kitties.

  14. Poor Kitty. Glad to hear that she is back on the mend and it hasn't affected her eating now. That garden will be handy when you are away on your trip and Mr. G. doesn't have to worry about killing anything off while you are gone. LOL. I would love to visit Ireland one day. Looking forward to your pictures.
