30 Dec 2014

For the first time since two years we had snow in Belgium and the sun was shining on the white landscape. I drove with my car to the bus station where I took the bus to Brussels.

Many people had the same idea, as the roads were not cleaned and therefore it was dangerous to drive.

The first part of my bus trip took me through the woods surrounding Brussels. From Waterloo, where I live it is only 15 km far.

In the city there was nearly no snow left at all

But on my way back home

I took some pictures through the windshield of my car from the surroundings where I live.

On the way to our street

and here is how our street looks like

In the afternoon I had this nice view sitting on my sofa and looking out of the window !

Next year's Christmas cards perhaps? We have beautiful blue sky in London today but no snow just frost and very cold. I have just returned from Manchester where I did see quite a bit of snow as I drove through the Midlands. Have a good New Year and I wish you good health for 2015 - no more falling down the steps.

It looks pretty. A winter wonderland. We had a hail storms last night and early this morning. That's as close to 'snow' as we will get :)

We have also had a bit snow, but it was very wet.
Thanks for your comment about the " oliebollen" . My knowledge about oliebollen is from Wikipedia, so I believe you when you say that you have never seen an " oliebol"!
Have a great and happy New Year!

Beautiful scenes Gattina. I love it when the bare branches are etched in frosty snow. I hope you didn't mind the snow and cold.

Best wishes for a very wonderful 2015!
