MY WORLD - Morrocan Souq

more participants here

I am still in Morocco for another 4 days before we fly back home to Brussels. This time my world was in Souqs ! A Souq is something you have to see to believe it. It's a kind of market but it isn't a market like we know. It is a mixture of very old houses, nearly ruins, or real treasures like here at the entrance

You can buy almost everything your heart wants

Sometimes you think the roof will fall on your head, but it stands there since centuries

the streets are very narrow and "all you can eat" people would have some difficulties to walk in there

Leather for sale

a nice roof to make some shade

My friend taking pictures

For a special meal

only small vehicles can go through

sometimes you go through an old door and find places like here

donkies or mules are the ideal transporters

another little street

still all handmade

"Babouches"

beautiful carpets

a bride carrier

The beautiful morrocan leather seats

and (again) exhausted tourists !

  1. WOW...I never dreamed that the streets were that narrow. I mean I've known they are but to see actual photos is amazing. That dinner menu...hmmm...I don't know if I would like it but I would try it. And the other thing I notice is how colorful everything is and how old looking the buildings and such look. It's a fascinating contrast :) Looks like you and your friend are having a great time :) Continue to be safe :)

  8. What an amazing place. Did you have Cow's head for dinner? So much to see you must have had visual overload. How much fun to be exhausted in such a way.

  10. Wow what fun. Ugh those sheep heads! I have a morrocan chair. I suppose they need to bring in products at night or early dawn when there are less people.Exploring is fun!

  11. I am still drolling over the carpets and the leather goods. The souk looks like fun albeit quite crowded.
