WEEKLY WINNERS - Snow on Waterloo Lion

More participants here at Sarcastic Mom Weekly winners

It was a wonderful cold winter day and I went to the snow covered Waterloo battle field

The battle field

The Lion from far looking towards England

and a little closer from the parking place

landscape

The Lion between the entrance and souvenir shop and the "Panorama"

For once he has a white "fur"

On the way back from the battle fields

The only open restaurant in winter time

but still tourists

and Napoleon who watches over them

  1. WOW...that's the actual place where the Battle of Waterloo took place? Fantastic. Why is it I didn't think you got snow there. I thought it was just rain for some reason. Silly me. Wonderful pictures Madame Chat. Ya done did good :) Have a great Sunday :)

  2. You have some lovely scenes there. It looked a steep climb up to the lion (with white fur). The trees look so elegant without their leaves and powdered with snow.

  8. You know, I was born in Belgium, lived there for 9 years after that. Never thought of it as being that nice under the snow! Or maybe Waterloo is just nicer than bxl...
    Nice shots!!!

  11. Your world is really LOVELY in white! And those trees are beautiful! Are they weeping willows? I don't think I've ever noticed them in winter before...

  12. I remember it was hard for us to find our way there. We could see the lion in the distance but not the road, we got lost in the fields!
