For this week's Show and Tell I have some different things. Karkade tea (called like that in Egypt) or Bisap in African countries is my favourite tea made out of Hibiscus flowers. A friend of my son brought me this special tea basket from Senegal. It is hand made and keeps the dried Hibiscus flowers real fresh.

Another friend who, I suppose, forgot that I have everything in cat form, offered me these sticks to stir Cocktails. I think my cats like them very much !

Usually when we eat chinese or asian I also want to make it real chinese and therefore eat with chopsticks. Mr. Gattino is unable to eat with them. The food falls down and he gets more and more hungry and with that looses more and more patience. So before he exploded, the chief of a chinese Restaurant brought him some special once for disabled Europeans !

  1. Never heard of tea baskets, what a beautiful one you have!!

I can't eat with sticks, Mr Mar can and has tried to teach me how a million times. I must say I try it if I am not very hungry...! In order to avoid a fight at a public place and to enjoy a pleasant oriental meal, I always order a fork with my food :)

  2. I love that tea basket, Gattina, but I have never tasted hibiscus tea. I actually like green tea.

As for the chopsticks...they can be tricky and there is an art to eating with them, isn't there? Mr Gattina wasn't swearing in Italian and in his opera voice was he? Lol!

  4. I have never heard of a tea basket either! I guess it makes sense, a basket to store your tea in...Very lovely though. I have hibiscus plants in my yard, never thought about drinking them as tea!
I still cannot figure out how to eat with a chopstick!

  6. It's actually how we taught our kids to use them, and eventually they could master it without the elastics.

  8. I worked until I could pick up one grain of rice with chopsticks; I was so proud. But then, I grabbed a fork so that I could get a good taste!

I like your bird sticks. I think it is a perfect counter point to your cat things.
